First, yes, there was a Motorola Razr released in February. But now there’s a brand-new version that aims to solve some problems and some nitpicks people had about that phone. The new 5G Razr has a Snapdragon 765G processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage (and of course, support for 5G). The phone is now made of aluminum and glass. Perhaps the biggest improvement is that the Razr is no longer an exclusive on Verizon — meaning you’ll be able to buy one unlocked that will work on AT&T or T-Mobile and those carriers’ sub-6 version of 5G. The new Motorola Razr will be out this fall for $1,400.

This guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about, this is pretty much just an ad. And by the way, it’s polished graphite, not granite. Makes me feel like he’s reading off a script.

Aside from the Cover screen and Nostalgic Effect. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G is way better than this… Especially the cheaper 4G Z Flip

If I had a ton of extra money, I would buy it so that I can have that and my iPhone. I just really don’t want to use Android but I want to play with that for factor! It would be so fun for awhile!

Listen, a folding phone WILL come out in the next few years for 900, and when it does, it will be in my hands first

I have no clue why people still buy regular glass slabs when you can either folding phone or dual screen phone…. The new Razr is awesome

I feel bad for the people who spent 1400 on a first gen. They aren’t even worth half that anymore. You lost so much money on a “prototype” technology.

The number of OS updates should be 4 because it has a premium price. Also, I liked to see how Motorola adapted it’s 15 years old iconic design for the 2020 device. It looks natural, not over-engineered.

I think this is the way folding phones will go mainstream, we’ve been making phones smaller and smaller (thiner) for decades, to the point where all we had left to lose was the bezels, Moto have done miles better than Samsung at making a desirable folding phone, the z flip is ugly (in my opinion) and the fold, while drool worthy from a geek standpoint, is far too big and expensive for most people! I am really hoping that next year we will see an S21 Fold/Z.
But back to Moto, beautiful design with noteworthy improvements and a price cut! I’ve missed clam shell phones and this just brings back so many fond memories I am considering switching from Samsung to Motorola!

Moto we know you can do it so please make pro version with the 865 and deck out and I’ll buy it. 765 just can’t do it for me. I really like the concept of these foldable phone and how they can do it differently

This will be a classic in 25 years. Grandkids will ask if I remember when we carried a cell phone everyday. Son, people use to stare at them all day long. Thats why old people walk hunched over now, if they leave the house.

Junk that isn’t even worth half price in 3 months lol
Look it up on ebay an iPhone x is worth more
Now if you really want a foldable phone get a Samsung zflip they hold their value

  28. Metalmachine467

    September 10, 2020 at 6:39 am

Common cnet where is that folding machine to see how fast you can flip it until it snaps
Save your money get a Samsung
I know I bought the original razr and it froze when using the camera complete junk
Don’t be a sucker like me

It’s to bad they don’t have a rugged flip phone so they can put in a larger battery like 4000 mAh. The price is still to high it should be $999.00

Looks awesome. Used to work in a phone shop back in the day when we sold the OG RAZR’s – nice product.
Wireless charging would have been a nice add on but i get it would have had to be thicker and impede on the design and that other deep crimson red colour would have been nice too..

    Just imagining iOS on it.
I know, I know.. dont hate me but only 2yr updates isn’t great.. should be 3-4yrs and the creativity apps on iOS are much better for music making.

But I really like it – oooh nostalgia! 😉

If only they could bring the price down. And they don’t end up trying to compete with Samsung in the camera department. They could get ideas from the Pixel phones that mainly rely on software instead of hardware to liven up pictures. Also, the OG Razr was loved for its sleek style, and this iteration does seem to capture that look.

DOA. Premium price, lack of premium tech.

moto razr looks absolutly beautiful and iconic but compared to z flip I think Z flip is better interms of specs and optics (addition of ultra wide) and better functionality and features. But still this is not a time for a fold/flips. after few generations of fold/flips is good to go with a cheaper price tag.

I will not purchase this phone. The flexible screen is the exact same as it’s predecessor. It’s easily scratched and after two months of use, the backplate left indentions on the screen.
