For the life of me, I don’t understand these numbers. To make it clear, I have nothing against Ben Affleck. I think he’s a good actor and a very talented director. If he can get $600 million for his A.I. Company, honestly, no sarcasm, good for him. It’s the numbers I don’t get. There was a recent Youtube video on a report about an A.I. company that Jeffrey Katzenberg has started. During the discussion, it was talked about how they will be able to make movies with drastically much smaller number of people and physical assets. It really is to the point where you have a small group of people in a room making “complete” movies. My understanding is, the quality of the output of these A.I. generated videos has to do with two things. The quality of the A.I. generator and the quality of the “prompts” that someone puts into the A.I.. In my mind, this is something thousands of people can do. I didn’t understand the reporter talking about “copyright” concerns. Makes no sense to me at all. I really believe that in the near future, some kid on a farm in Kansas, will be able to make a feature film on his laptop. If we’re that technically close for that being a reality, what in the world is someone paying $600 million dollars for.
