I mean… A contact lens display seems cool and all, but what are the downsides to wearing this?

I wonder if they could use a bank of tiny solar cells (and perhaps one small battery), considering you would usually use this in a lit environment. It’s kind of crazy they can make all this small enough to fit into a contact lens.

Why does CNET keep sending the dude with the worst vision to review AR glasses and contacts and VR headsets????

Why? I love the push for advancing technology but this is so far away that it seems wasteful to spend time and money on.
What purpose? vanity? glasses or even something that sticks on your temple would be far better than sticking something on your actual eyeball.
I don’t get it, I would like to get it, I just don’t.

He didn’t talk about comfort. That thing looks like a monster compared to a soft contact lens. Seems like they still have a ways to go on miniaturization until this is a practical product.

Hard pass. I’m trying to get tech out of my life not more involved. Government will find a way to get whatever info it collects and people will continue to sell security for safety or free apps. The tech is awesome. It’s the corporations and government that ruin everything.

I remember the monochrome and amber screen days. We gotta start somewhere. I love it! Let me be the first to coin the phrase…..”Augmented Assist” – Ed Moore
It would also be a tad more immersive if there was a headphone sync/audio sfx to go along with the visuals. Looking forward to the future.

It looks quiet… THICC… no way do I want that in my eye. Let’s do glasses first; yes, electronics will get closer and closer to you, but not that close like your EYES.
