They don’t need to.. These things sell really well to certain customers who just want it to work.

Poor performance and overpriced. For reference, I could get laptop which is superior in every way for about £500.
This is just bad.

Great performance. You could get commensurate or even better performance for cheaper yes, but not in the same form factor and brand confidence. So excited for mine to come in.

I have no idea why someone would be dumb enough to say, or believe this.
You can definitely get a more powerful laptop cheaper than this. But 500 quids won’t get you anywhere near this level.

@Benedict Vorauer
It starts at £4500, and it has a 2+ year old intel mobile chip.
It has an RTX 3060 mobile GPU, which is about 4 years old at this point.
32GB DDR4 and a 1TB NVME SSD.
I just bought my girlffriend a Vivobook from CeX (new) for £525. It’s got the same CPU, same SSD. GPU is only a 3050 and 16GB DDR4, but it also has a nicer OLED screen.
£4000 cheaper for almost identical performance.

@tickkick14 lol for real, it’s competing with MacBook Pro. Much like Samsung and others, all are following the precedent set by Apple.

@12 ValverI got the last gen surface laptop and it dumb if u think it’s underpowered. I use it partially for work and partially for mid tier gaming. And it works well

Its not under powerd in any way, it might be over priced but it does have the latest hardware.

Nobody’s indispensable. You usually find brilliant people behind the face of the product.

The SLS2 is boss af. Expensive, but…so is Apple, and it’s a laptop and tablet in one.

September 23, 2023 at 9:58 am
Not really, unless you prefer your tablet to weigh as much as a little puppy.

@Benedict Vorauer yea, they ditched the tablet idea and kept the drawing station. It’s too bulky and weighs too much to be carried around like a tablet

The specs u get is just insulting.
Apple gives u a better display, better gpu, and better battery life.
I own a surface- but Microsoft really needs to get better with this

Hands on??? This is just an overview of the features. There was no discussion or demonstration of the use of the products. You can just watch the announcement ad/trailer.

Who buys this junk? Just get a 4k laptop or an ultra thin if you need a long battery

Apple must be grateful to Microsoft, which often or always launches overprice products at higher prices than Apple, making the prices of Apple products look more reasonable.

I have used both companies. I hate Apple not offering touch screen
BANG JOE
September 24, 2023 at 2:55 am
@JFK 540 If rumors are true, Apple should launch a MacBook with an OLED screen and touchscreen in 2025
So I assume that the M3 iPad Pro will run on MacOS, it would be a shame if it doesn’t because the M3 chip is an overkill chip to run on iPadOS
I’m sure it won’t reduce their MacBook sales, which at the same price has better battery life and performance than the iPad.

The SLS 2 is a welcome upgrade – it was under powered in its first iteration and now it has solved that problem.
Oh, regarding the premium – MS makes superior hardware (on par with Apple) so these devices pretty much last longer compared to cheaper, plasticky windows machines. The price iw justified when your device looks, feels and lasts good.

SLG3 is $800 for a powerhungry CPU
-bad battery life (i dont buy what they officially say about it, given its an intel CPU it will suck the battery out)
-still no backlit keys
-same old design
-expensive for what it is, should have been $499 to start
-CPU should have been AMD for better battery life
An M1 Macbook Air is only $750 right now and M2 air is just $900 at Best Buy which are a better options for students. Microsoft is delusional
