Update: We received answers from Aemotion to our questions:
– First deliveries will occur toward the end of 2026 for early adopters. Greater volume of deliveries in 2027.
– Pricing will start at 200€/month (about $230 USD) for long-term rentals. After that, the vehicle comes back to the Aemotion factory to be refurbished to get back on the road. Full purchase price will be between 20-25,000 euros (about $23,000-28,800 USD) depending on features/add-ons.
– Aemotion says the microcar will be available outside France in 2027

I thought the only advantage this would have over a motorcycle is it protects you from the elements. Then I saw the half-doors. Either you close it off and provide climate control, or this solves nothing.

My question as a now retired professional motorcycle rider is … Who is actually going to use it?
That leaning angle is not like on a motorcycle where it is a tangible, palpable activity .. it is disconnected with this vehicle and people used to find Citroen 2CV ‘weird’ to travel in which leant over nothing like that does
Also … There’s no realistic side protection. I would not want to be in that if it was T Boned. As most accidents happen at junctions, that’s a real possibility
If that is technically a ‘Light Vehicle’ … It does not require a helmet, which IMO makes it even more dangerous to the users health
I wish them luck … But to me that’s a great deal of money for neither a car or a motorcycle… Which IMO offers the worst of both worlds (Gallic shrug)

Safer than a motorcycle, less than a car. More grip more stability, slide protection. A top speed lower than the foolishness some motorcyclists do.
This thing will be easier to maneuver and park in heavily congested or cramped cities. If your city has plenty of parking lots this vehicle isn’t meant for that kind of place.

@@flinxalso has a much bigger trunk than a motorcycle and the trunk is one piece. If the price is right this would be perfect for college students, young people on the army, people that want a more thrilling ride with more safety and people who live in too hot a climate for full motorcycle gear and helmet.

Motorcycles shouldn’t be allowed to “lane split”. They should have to follow the laws just like every other vehicle. Places that allow lane splitting are only putting lives at risk. I’m glad the place I live doesn’t allow lane splitting. No one should be encouraging such reckless and unsafe behavior.

I think this is a really dumb idea! I mean I don’t like these tricycle motorcycle hybrid things because one you basically get none of the benefits of a motorcycle or a car you know and with all these parts and four wheels is overly complex so something’s going to break God forbid it falls over and it breaks now you got to have this expensive repair I mean it’s not as maneuverable as a motorcycle and is not a spacious or utility as a car so what’s the point like it’s just it’s the worst of both worlds like I don’t know why they make these things I just don’t get it I mean you might as well just buy a small car.

We have modular left side half of same car with no engine when travelling 4 we can attach the only carrier half to this beauty and can make a 4 seat like normal car, and only two wheel well its this beauty again
