Thanks for watching! Just to be clear, you can still charge the new MacBook Pros with almost any USB-C charger, by using one of the three USB-C ports (as shown at 2:15).

So why is your reviewer suggesting you can’t, and that he’s inconvenienced by MagSafe when MagSafe is optional?

You can still charge with USB-C

I think the macbook pro 16″ has excellent external design especially those bezels and camera placement, port selection is exactly what I need, a little heavy but still great…
That is the 2019 model, no need for silly things like notch, HDMI, outdated design, more weight/less portability, that being said very interesting performance and screen.

It has the pro moniker for a reason, lightness isn’t the first thing

October 25, 2021 at 11:35 pm
@l21n1 I disagree, you reasoning applies to the Mac Pro, this is a laptop first and I doubt the vast majority of users will get anywhere near draining the battery.

@Bazzer there is the MacBook Air, maybe they should make a 12 inch one that’s lighter?

@l21n1 That isn’t a bad idea, but irrelevant for this discussion, and reducing the screen size isn’t the only way to reduce the weight.
I think that Apple led the way by only having usbc ports, however I can see why a small number of people feel it’s convenient to have some outdated ports built in.
The M1 series chips are groundbreaking, and the performance is definitely a valid reason to upgrade. I am only expressing my personal opinion that the design, weight and port selection is a big step backwards.

Wtf was this? This is by far the worst MBP “review”. Criticizes MagSafe yet doesn’t know that you can still charge from the USB-C ports as well.

Good news is that Apple confirmed that the USB-C ports CAN still be used to charge the new 2021 MacBook Pro 14 and 16 inch. So if you left your MagSafe at home you can still use USB-C!

I’ve yet to find reviewer who allowed us to hear a keyboard sample, and without noise in the background. That too is important for lots of us. Gosh sigh. 😏

It still has that classic MacBook Pro design with gaint speaker grill. Not the major redesign I was looking for.

No more emojis 🖤 on the Touch Bar, sad. Hopefully it comes back. Maybe they could make that an option.

I agree with you about MagSafe. I think every small electronic device (laptop, tablet, phone, smart speaker, clock radio, whatever) should use USB-C. I’m tired of the proliferation of incompatible chargers. However, it would be nice if the USB consortium came up with a standard for breakaway cables.

Apple macs are disappointing.
1. They left out sd uhs3 and hdmi 2.1
2. Face id and have us a thick body. That’s dumb.
3. Laptops running with less watts should not run hot therefore does not need chunky fans so the case could be smaller.
4. Get rid of the mac.
