School teaches kids to MEMORIZE things. I Homeschool my kid and do exactly what she said. Make it fun its not easy to understand so many things. Teach what every number represents, look for patterns and you’ll see how they can start plugging in numbers into formulas. Ultimately understanding why theyre applying the work needed to solve a problem. MATH is also my favorite subject 😅

I am sorry you had this bad experience in school.
All my math teachers and professors have been great and unique in public schools. I think it mostly depends if you have a good group of classmates or not. If you have a lot of distracting elements… That will not help you or neither the teacher.

Zearn SUCKS!!!! I want text books and whole class teaching for my kids. Stop outsourcing my kids education to EdTech! Moreover, districts are paying a substantial amount for annual subscriptions to these “curricula” as opposed to purchasing textbooks as a one time purchase!

Very well said! Thank you. I hope we see a day when everyone understands the process so that all children can invent what Einstein saw, without having to be given the math itself. 👍

“Who can learn math” is a wrong question, but I’ve never heard anyone ask it before 🤣

Also no. It is math because we say mathematics. Not mathsematics.

I was behind in math for 6 years and everyone thought I would never pass my exams until i hired a private teacher my parents could barely afford. He believed in me, allowed me to ask the most stupid questions… I passed my exams with A+ beating most students in my class.
I was never stupid. I only had a different way of learning and that teacher understood it.
