Come take an exclusive look behind the scenes at GM’s test labs to see how the new GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 was made. It’s the longest range electric truck so far, with an estimated 440 miles and it has Super Cruise, the only hands-free driving system that works while towing.

Testing on computers is great but they should also test on the roads before customers test it on the roads and find all the issues for GM. EV Blazer was full of glitches on arrival

How far did you tow it ? That’s always the Achilles heel of EVs.

@georgewashington3012 It will have towing range loss at the same rate as ICE trucks. I tow a boat with my RST and still average over 350 miles average with the boat behind me. I have not noticed any “Achilles heel”. The only way for you to find out is to try it out by renting one at Hertz and do your own particular towing test. Most folks who have towed with this truck have not noticed any “Achilles heel” either.

I have the Sierra EV and it towed my camper farther than my V8 F150 did on 26 gallons.

Useless garbage review

It should be called a SUV not a truck. The towing weight is too low for a truck. Not to mention it will start on fire 🔥 and burn in its future life, drain your pocketbook with a six figure purchase price, and GM will see your data they collect to anyone who wants it.

You do know that electric vehicles catch fire less often than gas cars? Fewer EVs catch fire each year than gas cars even when considering how many of each type are on the road… The percentage of gas cars that start on fire each year is almost 3 times as great as the percentage of EVs. These are stats from Europe but considering how the Us has more accidents related to passenger vehicles I assume that the same stats apply to the US

You must be making stuff up because everything you just said is false! Maybe educate yourself before corrupting the minds of others!

Super cruise is surprisingly useful for towing. I use it all the time towing my 6k lb travel trailer with my 23 high country

Great video. I loved it.
My only question is. With all that extensive testing why is GM reliability still so bad

Seems really obvious that state and federal regulators should establish criteria that these autonomous systems should have to pass. And it seems irresponsible for any serious journalist to report on this without saying that.

What I hate about this new vehicle fad, is the giant roof glass. The trucks are the worst because most of them can’t fit into a normal garage, so they’re in the elements all the time. Hell storms, and cleaning bird poop is going to be wide.

Big fan of this, but those 24s are enormous and even with air suspension, seems like that would be a harrrsh ride on Northern U.S. roads.
