I am sick of everything being a gotdamn subscription. You have no idea how many things I will not interact with because they are subscription. I think I needed a TV remote on my phone and there’s an app for it, but it’s a subscription no app for me. I’m not paying a subscription for stuff that I used to just be able to buy.

I feel like you could see Google just make their own version of this with Gemini built in. But I really think no-one will be talking about this device 6 months from now.

Ai would be way better integrated into Glases or Brain Chip.

I’ve finally shifted into luddite mode. I find that there are better things to be doing than whatever this is trying to do.

the funny part is on the bike scene when u asked what kind of bike that was….at the same time i pulled my cell out of my pocket and found that bike literally 2 seconds before you got a reply back….

It’s so slow you can see it’s broadcasting everything it does via 4g to the cloud and waiting for a response.

The consumer product isn’t really their end game. If anything, this is to add to their portfolio for bigger companies to scoop them up for their patents and experience.

A self contained phone that doesn’t give you basic tools that you regularly use on your phone as demonstrated in other reviews. They took the idea of not using a screen a bit too far: it doesn’t do alarms, reminders, etc. Is it an accessory or is it ACTUALLY a device?

Why didn’t they just make an AI focused smartwatch that works standalone from a smartphone?

They could project onto the wrist with more stability if they still want to push that gimmick

The subscription will chase people away. The device itself is expensive and then you have to add subscription then its costly. If you dont get a subscription not sure how useful the device will be.

What percentage of users will put this in the washer? I’d say at least >30%

I really hope all the engineers leave ASAP and find better companies to work for before word gets out that the product sucks…. because there is something to be said about the technical challenges that were overcome while building the pin (esp the laser projection) but man is it a stupid application
