Would you pay two percent more for the carbon-neutral version of the products you buy and use every day? In this innovative talk, climate pathfinder Jens Burchardt walks us through the costs and considerations of producing planet-friendly products — from creation to purchase — and explains why curbing climate change doesn’t have to break the bank. It’s an inspiring demonstration of how the barriers to a greener world may not be as insurmountable as we think.

MORE CO2 is MUCH better. I’d go for 2000 PPM–the earth would be much greener

It’s just another tax masquerading as saving the planet.
Like to now how he maths work. As adding eg. 5% tax on goods thru the distribution chain will compound the cost quite considerably. 5% on 5% on 5% till you get the finished good.
Compound interest or compound tax is a killer. Ask anyone with a mortgage……

Nothing about the climate has changed
Hi Hi

The whole western countries specially US can’t force any developing country to reduce green house gas. They can just humbly request to do so. US’s talking about climate change it’s like – You(U.S.) made your house out of wood and brick and now you(U.S) are saying I(U.S) can’t allow anyone(Developing country) burning clay to make brick and cutting trees for planks. Because burning clay and cutting trees severely damage the whole climate system. The main resposible for the climate change is Western countries. Now thay have money so they can easily put blame on any developing country. It is important to think about our climate change and take necessary action but first western countries should share there infrastructure and fund to the developing countries for installing solar panel and so on because they are the reason for present condition.

Thieves. The climate is going to change regardless. I’m not a global warming denier, but they got the causation wrong. Co2 is plant food. Besides, we are heading into a solar grand minimum and pole shift/migration. The climate will change regardless.

We need to tax by emissions of all products used, this includes all of the supply chain. This is the only way to ensure quantative change lead by economics. As we all want ethical change, but history shows there is only a step change when there is a comic reason.

The only real vote that we have is how we spend our money. Democracy is an illusion. Once we stop spending money on industries that we don’t like, watch things change. 👍

The idea that we can just spend more money to fix the problem is insane. who does this guy work for?
We need to severely curb our consumption. The fact that our models of economy are based on continuous growth is what the problem is. In 22 years, our resource requirement will have doubled from what it is today. Our Population at the current growth rate will have doubled in 65 years, what will we need with twice as many people? twice as much resources. This is a fantastic loop of exponential growth that will see our doom, climate change or not.
