I nearly developed type 2 diabetes, but after consulting my doctor, I opted for gastric sleeve surgery. It effectively lowered my blood sugar levels.

I am fortunate enough to be part of the 9% population that developed Type 1 diabetes after the age of 25. Funny fact is that I developed it after moving to Colorado which at the time the Bronco’s quarter back Jay Cutler developed it as well.
I consider myself lucky since I grew up with a sister who developed it pre-teen. I saw BG test kits the size of a Nintendo Switch or loaf of bread. A time when carbs were not counted and we knew several people that lost limbs. Insurance wouldn’t cover them due to pre-exsisting condition. You hardly ever see that today. I am thankful that I was older and was able to get on a insulin pump when you had to get special approval and insurance didn’t want to cover it. Today is the best time to be a Type 1 diabetic.

Anyone ever notice your BG going through massive changes before and after a storm. If you have a bad knee or joint the pain seems to cordinate with eachother.
