Lazy asses. Just go to the settings and deactivate the notification for the app. It’s not hard.

I’ve always turned off vibration, the phone is always muted completely and is lying display down if on a table. This way, I’ve never developed “phantom phone syndrome” etc. I only check for notifications on demand, when I decide to check. And yeah, I never pick up when someone is calling that way; I call back when I see fit.

So what’s the problem? Disable those notifications. In an iPhone go to Settings -> Notifications and turn them off in most apps that bug you the most. And also, never enable them when you install a new app. My phone never rings or buzzes. All allowed notifications come through icon badges only (those red numbers on icons.) Those are not obtrusive. To see them you have to turn on your phone.

great story… I have had my phone on silent for almost 2 years… it seems like a much better way to move around my days… people still expect immediate responses!?!? I always tell them if you are bleeding or dying call 911 otherwise you can wait… I can tell that doesn’t land well… maybe someone else can help you with your fix…

tip of the day: if you’re on a video chat, try not to aim the camera directly up your nose

I don’t understand how it’s a problem. The turn off notifications button is just a tap away🤔

Literally there are settings at the exact moment of receiving a notification to manage the notifications for that application on iOS.

I have no social media and no friends… so I don’t get any notifications, even if I’d want to 😀

wow. People pay so little attention (despite rampant narcissism) to themselves that they need a video to tell them about the notifications on their phone and the health effects. What a Sad world.

Funny the inventor of the pop-up ad said that “we never intended it for it to be what it is” now we’re hearing this about phone notifications.

    Fool me once….

I think the reality of the situation is that Humanity creates without thinking. Much like we do everything else.

Alas, no one switch to turn off all notifications/contexts. (:-( Maybe OS ships with *no* notifications enabled in any app?

I have turned off all my notifications. I get a bad feeling. Not a good feeling. BUNZ is the only one I keep on. I used to unplug my phone before the Internet. Stop bothering me!
