Naps as emotional first aid, I’ve been practicing this for years. On another note, when you describe something as the “most evolved” whatever it makes me a lil crazy

When i got checked for the first time to get diagnosed for depression, the primary thing the doctor prescribed me was to get enough sleep. Figures. Thanks for the helpful video!

Dont you love how they just say the remedy is largely based on getting enough sleep. Well if I could do that, I wouldnt be here would I? Arghh

I think rather than being disconnected, we as “ceo” of our brain may be putting way too much stress on the amygdala because we feel like we can compensate our lack of sleep like that.

So were not disconnected. Were just making bad decisions.
Could try to test this by getting people to be sleep deprived, that have a good history of having little sleep.

Sleep is as, if not more effective, than medication when it comes to managing my bipolar disorder. When I got into crisis, my sleep was so disturbed, nightmares, oversleeping in the day, manic insomnia etc. Slowly shifting my sleep to a regular pattern really helped regulate my mood and reduce nightmares. I can have an episode of mania or depression triggered solely by 4 nights of disturbed broken sleep. This stuff really matters.
