Depending on how the first full reviews turn out, the 9 Pro Fold is likely going to be my first foldable.

Be careful of the battery life. It may come to bite you hard. 😅 Keep an eye out for other foldables like the vivio X fold 3 pro or Honor magic V3. Much cheaper and have more features than the pixel or Samsung line. 😅

Just get a discounted Z Fold 5. It’s 95% of what you get in the Fold 6, better than the P9 Fold, and you’ll pay half as much.

@@jkpiowa, why? Pixel UI isn’t at all optimized for foldables and it has a ton of unnecessary restrictions that make trying to do things that ought to be straightforward either impossible or an exercise in frustration.

They’re obviously still under embargo and seeing what they can get away with without actually reviewing the phone. Plus I don’t even think the review units have sent yet.

Its 21w charging only, the 45w is just their charger’s speed..

    • @NEMOsleeps24

      August 22, 2024 at 12:30 pm

Yeah they’re doing the same crap Apple does charging it slow as molasses for boomers who keep a phone for ten years. I refresh every year on TMobile because I want a brand new experience and battery. Worth paying for it in my opinion with how fast phones lose their value. Would be nice if at least in the beta or developer options you had the option to up the charge speed for advanced users.

      August 22, 2024 at 4:57 pm

But that isn’t a problem if you make sure your phone is fully charged before you go somewhere. Even so it’s still going to get you to 60- 70% in 30 mins back in the day you would be waiting 2 hours

    • @PodiumTuningRacing

      August 22, 2024 at 12:36 pm

Yea just buy it now if you’re considering. With most new chipsets the first Gen usually has issues, then next year you’d prob say you want to wait until P11. Just buy it now, it’s wayyy more device than anyone truly needs. I’m ordering one from Samsung Fold 4

    • @PatBlackJR

      August 22, 2024 at 3:01 pm

@@PodiumTuningRacing I see your point and raise you this: The next gen chip is supposed to be made by the same chip makers behind the Apple M1. That chip didn’t have many issues at launch but there certainly were improvements year over year. With that being said I am coming from a pixel 6 Pro and was looking to upgrade this year anyway so I say “Touche”.

Depends if you’re a gamer, if you’re not a gamer it’s fine. The difference is nothing. I have an ultra 23 and I’m sure this phone is faster but if you’re just swiping and doing everyday things there’s no issues what’s so ever

I started with the Zfold 2, then updated to the Zfold 4 (which I have now), but when I saw the Zfold 6 was basically the same as the previous versions, I called it quits! Ordered the Pixel 9 Pro Fold last week and I’m getting it on the 4th. I’m excited to try something new 🎉 I have big hands and I’m tired of typing on the slim outer screen! The Pixel 9 Pro Fold should be much easier to type on, and the 8” screen will be awesome to experience 💪🏽

If this foldable gives me the same satisfaction I got with the Pixel Pro 8, plus the excitement my first foldable (the recent Samsung Z fold 6) just gave me, I can see myself definitely selling the fold 6. I love it, but there are just things I loved about my Pixel 8 pro I didn’t realize I’d miss so much until I traded it for the Z fold 6.

That’s what I get for not being patient. 😂 Don’t get me wrong, I f’n love my fold 6. But the idea of having that foldable experience combined with the pixel experience has me extremely excited. I have it preordered and waiting to use the credit from the preorder promo towards the pixel watch 3 XL.

I originally didn’t care for the pixel watch as they seemed too plain and boring. Then pixel promo last year included it with preorders, and after having it, I fell in love with how sleek and simple it was and how it didn’t look “just like” other smart watches. And the screen and watch faces turned out to be very appealing. My ONLY gripe was wanting a bigger watch face, which is now resolved with the watch 3 XL.
