It’s good to see you doing yet another samsung flagship phone. And another phone with space zoom 😃. I did trade in my note 20 ultra last year and brought the z fold 3 mainly because samsung gave $1k trade in. I figured that I would have to go z fold from here on out, until today. Now with the s22 Ultra, samsung is giving $900 trade in for the z fold 3. It’s decision time again. What do you think 🤔? Should I space zoom or fold?

…just get a Ultra with 256gb ROM or more. Base 128 has 8gb, even the 2019 Note 10 has 12gb 😂

I use my phone as a phone and not mainly as a camera or tablet/computer. Thus, I want to know what the differences are in 5G technology, wi-fi capability, bluetooth, microphone (so I folks can hear me on a call), speaker quality (so I can hear others during a call), GPS quality, and etc. I wish more YouTube video reviews cover these qualities in these cellphones once they get their hands on the devices.

This is the comparison was waiting for… Will wait for more clarity in the side by side camera comparison test apart from this you have improved wifi 6se and better 5g modems with a efficient 4nm processor and a 45 watt charging🔋⚡… Nice work👍

Es un s21 ultra convertido en un note. No veo ningun motivo más para que alguien quiera cambiar su S21 ultra por el s22 ultra pagando mas por lo mismo y por cierto el spen esta sobrevalorado ya que no se usa para nada

Galaxy s 21 ultra could it be much better if they would not do the round edge. My LGV50 was much better, Outstanding pictures and video, unfortunately 5G internet wasn’t compatible with T Mobile. To bad LG doesn’t make cellphones anymore 😒 my Galaxy S 21 ultra isn’t the best, specially videos 👎

I don’t use the s pen so the s21 ultra would be the way to go. The s21 prices will go lower once the s22 comes out.

For those of you who purchased an S21 Ultra in 2021, an incremental upgrade to S22 Ultra is just NOT worth it! Nearly 90% specifications are verbatim. Infact the S21 Ultra even offered A SKU with 16GB RAM which has been duscountined in S22 Ultra. The Camera hardware are practically the same with only a minor improvement for low light photography which would come to S21 Ultra as well with a software/firmware upgrade.
The LTPO QHD+ AMOLED display is also practically the same !
The major change really is a NEW Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4nm SoC or Exynos 2200 (as opposed to erstwhile Snapdragon 888 SoC or Exynos 2100) which may offer a slightly better performance per watt (may not be with Exynos though). Moving to 45W fast charging has little impact since the existing 25W fast charger is blazing fast by itself. Regarding the dedicated SPen – statistically nearly 80% of Note users did NOT use SPen on a regular or frequent basis, so SPen usage model does not have enough traction on S22 Ultra either.
Pricing : I purchased the S21 Ultra (12GB RAM, 256GB Storage SKU) at its lowest pricing in 2021 at 84K INR nearly 20% below its initial launch price. SKU to SKU , S22 Ultra would be more expensive by approx 25K INR, but spec to spec not significant difference.
The only noteworthy upgrade in my opinion is Snapdragon 8 Gen1, and few very minor improvements are SPen dedicated slot, Wifi6E, 45W fast charging, option for 1TB storage, and Gorilla glass victus+ , with a slightly higher peak brightness at 1750 nits. No major earth shattering upgrade. For example I was expecting one/more of following.
1. Holographic I/O interface (for AR applications, 4D spatial visualization hypermedia applications including holographic mode input console)
2. Brain Computer Interface / BCI applications integrated with on-board AI capability & Bixby gen3
3. Energous true wireless charging as opposed to induction based wireless charging
4. Support for multi eSIM – on demand subscription model
5. AI based Seamless network mobility support across- Wifiac, Wifi6E , 4G LTE-A, 5G sub6, 5G mmWave
6. Camera upgrade – video capture 4K@60fps and 8K@30fps on ALL cameras, not just the primary camera
7. Support for multiple simultaneous user workspaces (virtual sandboxing) with Context adaptive multitasking- ability to switchover to different workspaces dynamically based on user Context like input mode, output mode, media source, network device, gesture control, NLP semantics, haptic feedback etc

If you’re on an older phone though like me it’s worth the upgrade. Don’t like not having expandable storage though. I’m on note 9 still. She’s falling apart though time to upgrade.

Question. I paid cash for the 21 ultra. If I trade in I get the 22 ultra for 323. Think it’s worth it?

@Rokus Buie I purchase the 16gb 500gig S21 ultra last year, I’m still very happy with this phone. All the updates have made battery life way better and honestly I’m not impressed with this years design. In my opinion the S21 design was way more slick.
Btw I also purchased Samsung’s official phone case with the s pen included, and while I did enjoy it, it truly never used it and switched back to a regular case in two months and haven’t gone back.
So stick with your S21 ultras. There’s a good reason why Samsung stopped selling them because they’re practically the same.

So if you have S21 Ultra – updating to the new NOTE (i am saying it on purpose) is pointless. I dont use the SPen anyway, so 0 % difference if they will be rolling out practically the same software. Thank you so much for the review! It put my mind at ease.

I believe the screen quality on the 21 ultra is way better than the s22 ultra… Disagree or agree?

February 10, 2022 at 5:18 pm
Seeing this, I will definitely be sticking with the S21 ultra. As many other people have said, there really isn’t much difference between the two except for the S pen , and the fact that the S22 Ultra looks square like instead of curved which in my case would not be good because I tend to drop my phone, and it would be easier to break than the S21 Ultra.

The changes are pretty much minimal and of no importance and imo s21 has much sexier and stylish desighn. No upgrade for sure.
