The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has turned a more critical gaze toward mergers and acquisitions within the tech industry, and its Chair Lina Khan spoke about a number of challenges the agency is currently facing as it tries to update its practices in the face of an AI upswing.

As for why it’s increasingly targeting major players, Khan explained: “Being able to go after the ‘mob bosses’ is going to be more effective than going after the henchman at the bottom.”
