Helen Toner was a part of the effort to remove former, and current, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman from his position. Now, she’s raising awareness on the need for AI governance, and she joined the conversations at StrictlyVC in DC to talk about just that.

As to whether an AI company can regulate itself, the answer was a clear no. But whether Congress will be able to do the job, Toner expressed some hope, but with some more candid doubts.
