When Apple uses its own C chip for modem in all its devices, Qualcomm will lose about 1/3 revenue and 1/3 profit.

Then there will be lots of staff retrenchment and hence R&D and other costs will be cut drastically.

It may be shot on snapdragon, but it really doesn’t have the same professional video quality we see from shot on iPhone events… Cool concept tho and we’ll see improvement year to year 👀

Android, Snap dragon and Google should collaborate with Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft and valve to create os apps for android. You should simply be able to download a console perfect experience from these game platforms from simply downloading 1 or all 4 of the apps from Google play store. For phones like Samsung galaxy fold, pixel fold, OnePlus and other with capable phone hardware range in the next year. The same should be done with streaming service apps by Nvidia, lunar Xbox and ps ultimate for first snap dragon Google android star link service phones who just want to stream current generation games entertainment services like them 4. And obviously express micro SD slots will be essential, maybe two. The perfect phone or handheld device for entertainment. This should be the exact same approach for TVs and laptops as we’ll. Android Google snap dragon phones by the obvious makers should be all anyone would need for anything. These gaming platforms from Sony, Nintendo, valve and Microsoft are the only os apps missing in Google play from a consumers point of view.

    • @ChristophBackhaus

      September 25, 2025 at 2:26 pm

They are doing this already. Google is preparing Android to become a desktop os.

Shame on Snapdragon for abandoning Linux.

    • @Leonard.L.Church

      September 25, 2025 at 3:56 pm

Huh? Isn’t android bringing terminal support next year?

    • @xali2008

      September 25, 2025 at 4:19 pm

@@Leonard.L.Church When Snapdragon launched the X Elite, they promised full Linux support by the end of 2024, but then pretty much dropped it.
Also, Android ≠ Linux. Yes, they share the same kernel, but that’s just the low-level foundation. On top of it, Android and GNU/Linux each have their own layers and abstractions. That’s why you can’t just run an Android app on Linux (or vice versa) without emulation or virtualization.

  31. @driver7227

    September 25, 2025 at 9:04 am

I just want a smartphone that runs full desktop OS when docked and can run well everything, including x86/64 apps, a single device for everything, do it already

    • @mrx10001

      September 25, 2025 at 6:28 pm

lol do you see how badly optimized modern software is? Never happening.

  32. @VR_Wizard

    September 25, 2025 at 9:04 am

32% more Web browsing is not relevant. I am on a fold 5 with an 8 Gen 2 processor and there is no lag when browsing the web.
Maybe AI on device could be useful one day but the on-device AI is so bad compared to cloud-based that I would say don’t bother.

Maybe on device speech-to-text recognition could benefit from faster processors but not many use it and again online STT systems are available and better and less power hungry.

less power requirements is probably something they should focus on at least in day to day tasks like browsing watching youtube and using apps.

  33. @jaysalomon5298

    September 25, 2025 at 9:22 am

OEMs will lock you out of using the hardware , advertise it as a feature then use it for some propriety nonsense, Qualcomm won’t release dev kits to not annoy the OEMs , so it’s all mostly pointless for anyone wanting to actually leverage this technology, which is just going to be wasted because of politics

I wish Google Pixel 11 Pro used this CPU instead of their custom Tensor G6. I really love Pixel, but I don’t like the chip for some reasons. Yeah, I really wish then it’s the ultimate smartphone. Qualcomm’s latest chip plus Pixel 11 Pro.
