My view point is ADHD is a superpower as long as we navigate it to work for us.

I was only diagnosed with ADHD this year but everyone neurodivergent is just super smart and I’m not super book smart so I feel like I never relate to anyone with adhd or who is on the spectrum lol

I understand you fully. I have ADHD, was diagnosed at 18 and didn’t get medication (I was scared of it) until this month. I had a 1.6 GPA in middle school, dropped out of highschool because I needed to make up three years worth of school but was a senior. I took a break and then spent four more years trying to get my GED, and eventually did get my GED at 23.

@secrettracy406 and does the medication works? My daughter is diagnosed with ADHD and with my wife and me we have a big debate on whether to give her medication.

You can’t abuse someone out of a mental disorder. If anything that’ll just make it worse. Kids with ADHD in the past either kept getting slapped about until their parents and teachers gave up on them, or the lucky ones had adults around them who realized their potential and did what they could to support them.
Sure, some kids straightened up if they got slapped for their behaviors, but those kids didn’t have ADHD.

Don’t need to be a clinical psychologist to diagnose that you’re talking reductive excrement

Yeah, no. My paternal grandparents had none of that growing up, barely any sugar, almost completly minimally processed organic food, no screen, no nothing. They are the most ADHD people I have ever met

What annoys me is how many people think they have ADHD when they don’t, and just think that it’s a fairly easy condition to manage and push through, and then have a “just give it a little effort” mentality to those of us who really do have it.

I believe adhd is a symptom of chronic anxiety driven by false belief systems. Trying to cope with the stress of false negative beliefs creates most if not all disorders.

Very true. A true developmental disorder would be evident from an early age.

So… you’re reducing ADHD to anxiety… another neuro issue.

Try breathing and slowing your speech down to less than chipmunk speech, dear.

Spoken by someone who doesn’t have adhd I presume? Those with ADHD would find the speed she’s speaking to be just right.
My question to you is, why does she need to slow down as opposed to you learning to listen faster? Both would be just as difficult for the respective person to do.

Undiagnosed as a child. School and life would’ve been better had I known. People are lucky they had people around them smart enough to diagnose and treat it.
