    It is not just a perception; the wage growth has been basically negative over an extended period of time if one properly takes into the account of inflation, even when it looks nominally positive.

      Most raises do not beat inflation, so a person never feels like they are getting ahead. I agree with you.

    Pre-pandemic wages have been eroded by the last two years of inflation. So wage earners are still far behind.

    Decreasing inflation means prices are still going up, not down. Deflation is prices going down. Take an economics class.
