Mon idée d’un rendez-vous galant consiste désormais à faire chauffer du pop-corn au micro-ondes et à regarder une comédie romantique en streaming. Parfois, on a besoin de plus de rires que de gémissements✨

Real chinese food is chinese food. Lots of stuff you get in America isn’t very authentic. And when you get it in restaurants, it’s because that’s what the Americans want.

Agreed, he is deliberately being dishonest. Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand & Japan are majority responsible for the asian food hybrid we eat here in the West (some incorrectly reference it as Chinese) No one eats actual chinese food in the west. We eat a hybrid mix that other asian nations have created.

Pretty sure what he cooked up was a plate of fried rice, done quickly and looking similar to the average chinese take away dish.
I also saw way less Nostalgia than gas lighting. Who said it wasn’t appreciated? And why should We all give it more respect?
In the UK a fried rice dish like that costs around the same as fish and chips for a dish that costs way less to put together. I’d suggest that’s respect enough.

This is all asian food (not chinese) & he is being deliberately dishonest. Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand & Japan are primarily responsible for creating the asian hybrid food we eat in the west. We often incorrectly call it Chinese & he is intending to take advantage of that.

i think it’s like the BLM vs All Lives Matter thing. he wasn’t trying to dismiss other cultures of asia he’s just specifically speaking on the chinese culture to give it the spotlight for a moment

@@crayoncruncher9255 If you were asian you would understand .. he is deliberately being dishonest to a western audience that wouldnt know any better.

@dsdgdsfegfeg i am asian and i disagree with you. what crayoncruncher9255 said makes sense. you can find another guy that talks about asian cuisine and he can give the spotlight for another country.

chinese food is rice and a few vegetables and perhaps a random bird.

May 26, 2025 at 6:29 pm
… you could say that about a lot of cuisines. I think you’re missing the point here
@dsdgdsfegfeg
May 26, 2025 at 7:25 pm
@@CubicleJ0ckey Was the point he was dishonestly trying to take ownership of the hybrid asian food mix the West eats .. as Chinese? The hybrid is far more influenced by Malaysia, Thai & Japanese. Little to no one eats Chinese food in the West (even if they call it that)
@ms9001
May 27, 2025 at 1:41 am
@dsdgdsfegfeg seriously, find something better to do. there are distinct chinese, malaysia, thai and japanese cuisine in the west. people know that. only you mix everything and think they are hybrid. if you ask anyone from the US, they know sushi is japanese, fried rice is chinese, coconut curry is thai.

He could have picked a different dish to showcase imo, but chinese food is vast and has a depth to it beyond what you get at some random place geared to the local palette.

Theres one place i go to for real chinease food here in north texas… And i have never found it as good as this place.. and what’s crazy is its just a little bity tiny building big enough for a kitchen and checkout counter. Its not fast but the quality of food i get there beats absolutely any kind of bs Chinese buffet slop. The problem here is theres not really any real chinease restaurants.. its all just Chinese buffets. So when i found this little place i was in heaven.
