Let me know when it’s wireless.

    • CNET

      November 15, 2020 at 6:42 pm

You don’t want this thing to be wireless. If it gets stuck in a current or in some seaweed it’s gone.

    • Cheddar323

      November 15, 2020 at 6:45 pm

@CNET wireless power to be exact not completely wireless where I’m gonna lose the thing lol.

@CNET what if the wire gets broken… I’d rather have it wireless. Anyway, there are always benefits and advantages, but to say that it’s connected to a wire for “safety” is a lie. Just say that current technology doesn’t allow it.

      November 15, 2020 at 8:04 pm

      Wireless? It is wireless.
Good luck getting a (wireless) tx / rx to pass the radio signals through 50 feet of water and also air.

Probably something to do with buoyancy

    November 15, 2020 at 7:58 pm

Interesting, but I’m not sure I’d buy it, because at the beginning it’d be 1 or 2 hours of playing with it and having fun, but after that I’d probably get bored with it, and as it’s just a toy without any practical use cases (for me) it’d probably regret buying it.
One technical suggestion for the manufacturer: Maybe it’d be a good idea to put the battery in that floating Wi-Fi module and make it easily replaceable (e.g. one in use, another one charging). It’d make that drone useful for people who search for stuff underwater more professionally – those search sessions often take hours/days straight.
