Why do you need separate device while the same feature is available inside Android and IPhone?

just deal with your FOMO and you won’t need a Brick

This is the problem with capitalism, you want me to pay some “revolutionaries” to put my f***ing phone down? Just fu**ing do it and regain the control that you want. It’s the world’s most free thing to do, yet these assholes think this problem requires gadgets? Do they not see the irony in that? God I hate idiots. Rant over.

People saying practice self-control or use screen time feature and such, well clearly all that didn’t work for someone to try this and if this creates a big enough barrier to stop you from using your phone than it’s doing its job perfectly. If you can practice self-control than good for you but that doesn’t work for most people and screen time feature is also not the perfect solution as it is so easy to dismiss it.

The cheapest way is to get an NFC sticker to launch a shortcut to restrict yourself from those apps.

the most unnecessary device. there is no need to use this. just learn how to control yourself.

  13. @EnidAgnusDei

    May 25, 2024 at 12:14 pm

Or just delete the social media apps, this is yet another device that has no real use or benefit.

Hi great video. But in my opinion i belive this is just a short term solution. If you really want to stop your chronic social media addiction you will have to discipline yourself. You say the iphones screen times are easy to bypass but its also easy to get up and move 2 feet to scan yourself. Also you have to keep yourself accountable and ensure you dont spend too much time mindlessly on the internet. My personal advice is to delete apps that u dont need for work that youre addicted to and use the google chrome versions when u have to go on them. The web versions really suck so it kind of discourages you from using the platforms mindlessly and wasting time. Ill also recommend trying out new real life hobbies. Good luck on your journey to detoxify yourself from social media

  19. @Matschbacke25

    May 25, 2024 at 1:59 pm

Just use the built in Screen Time feature from Apple.

This sound somehow stupid to me !

  21. @philodygmn

    May 25, 2024 at 4:30 pm

It’s great you’ve been helped by this, but Apple’s built-in Focus features have all this and more right in Control Center if you set up a Custom Focus (which has a nice walkthrough of the process that you can control its interaction with other features like Do Not Disturb). As you said, though, for you, the friction is part of the reason it works, but for those who’d like to do something quite similar and more customizable for no additional cost and no fear of lock-out, might I recommend a Custom Focus🤓

I think there are so many other options as well, but I do like the idea of having a physical location. Maybe iPhone can implement something like that?
