I returned the AirPods 3 because they hurt my ears. I just went back to using my old AirPods 2.

Try the soundcore liberty 3 pros. I have small ears myself and to me they’re very comfortable, and they sound really good too plus they also have anc that works pretty good too. I think they have some type of vent that’s supposed to help with ear fatigue and in my opinion they’re alot more comfortable than the liberty 2 pros that I upgraded from.

Original galaxy buds + were the most uncomfortable for my ears, I couldn’t wear them any longer than 5 minutes. The AirPods Pro’s don’t stay in my ear but are more comfortable, so really I don’t have any good options.

    • Agent311

      May 2, 2022 at 10:51 pm

I still have my galaxy buds and they’re very comfortable, they are smaller than most other earbuds. As for the airpods pro, they’re even more comfortable and I can wear them all day without any issues.

This please! I hate buds that go in the ear so the only options are airpods/airpods style or linkbuds

    • EvilBonsai

      May 3, 2022 at 8:04 pm

@Renee samsung earbuds live sit in-ear but NOT in ear canal I hate any buds that go in ear canal, but like the earbuds live. Still took a while for ears to get used to them, but much more comfortable than any others I’ve used.

Every ear bud for a small ear MUST have a strap to go behind the ear! All those mentioned above WILL NOT stay in a true small ear!

Fatigue category is so important to me and lots of reviewers doesn’t include that. Thank you for including this category!

The half in ear plastic earbuds are perhaps the most comfortable for many, but it does comes at a cost without ANC.

I don’t think I technically have small ears, but the AirPods 3 were a downgrade from the AirPods 2 with respect to comfort for me. Not only do they irritate my ears after a while, they won’t even stay in during my workouts like the AirPods 2 do. I had to return them.

  31. Brandon Kiick

    May 3, 2022 at 11:45 am

Great review. I have small ears And the only ones I can get to work for me are the Apple EarPods. Or the airpod pros without the tips.

    May 3, 2022 at 12:43 pm

What do you think of the Samsung Buds Live (aka “beans”). I have owned and experience with most every name brand headphones (Apple, Sony, Samsung, Jabra) and while not the best sound the Beans are my favourite for fit and comfort.

  33. Scharel Brown

    May 3, 2022 at 12:43 pm

    Galaxy buds 2 are comfortable

  34. AceMathias

    May 3, 2022 at 6:58 pm

I also have small ears, so really appreciate this detailed consideration as you’re right that it’s a really important factor for ear buds.
I use the Sennheiser momentum TW2 buds. Found they give a great seal and are comfortable when using the supplied Small silicone tips.

You forgot one test that always gets buds without wingtips out of my ear. The chewing test.

Pixel Buds A Series, 1More ComfoBuds Mini, Galaxy Buds 2, and Earfun Free Pro 2 are some of the best options for those with smaller ears. I would never recommend the Sony XM4 for people with smaller ears. Sony Linkbuds might be a better option but definitely not the XM4.
