Surya Bonaly did in 1998. This not new it’s just not done and you’ve had 28 years

It was banned in 1977 and were unbanned in 2024 and it is still not common to see them in programs so they are still very rare and Surya Bonaly was NOT the first person to do it she was the first women to do it and most skaters go into competitions trying to win so they were not preformed often because they would receive a point deduction and most skater would not spend time learning how to do a skill they were not allowed to compete without a point deduction. So it is kind of new in a way because most skaters are not going to spend time learning a hard skill they can’t compete without a point deduction.

She deserves her flowers but just so you know she was not the first person to do a backflip on ice she was just the first women.

It’s crazy how the backflip was considered illegal when the Black girl was doing it.
