Apple unveils AI-generated emojis. Will anyone use them? | TechCrunch Minute
Apple announced a slew of new AI features at WWDC 2024, but people can’t seem to get over what they’re calling the Genmoji. They’re adding the ability to create AI-generated emojis using a text prompt. In theory this could be a cool addition to a user’s texting arsenal, but who will really use this feature…

Also plain creepy, hey let’s make emotes that look like you so it’s like your work email signature so everyone knows it’s you when they screen shot a text chain

1:57 skinned emojis and people who opt to use them are weird (nobody forgot or cares what you look like?). The reason they exist is because the Unicode consortium wanted to feel an inclusivity pick me up, I imagine.

I had this idea like 2 weeks ago, I’m glad that somebody is actually doing it.
