This “plan” is laughable but not surprising for a non techie like Tim Cook thinking the solution to Apple’s lack of AI is is to develop an “Answer Engine’ for Siri. LLMs today may feature as an answer engine but LLMs will soon have a much longer reach – into planning, assisted research, agentic actions etc that will touch every Human on this earth. The new AI gadget will be pretty much be about how AI helps the human on just about everything. Its much much more than an “Answer Engine”.
