Damn – was really hoping for a color model of the scribe. I guess I’m buying another boox tablet!

I preordered it yesterday but canceled today since I realized that I read most of my books in text BW around 90% of the time. I mainly use my Kindle Scribe for note taking and reading documents that require graphics such as textbooks and PPTs in PDF format so will just stay with my paper white and scribe for now

I have the original Kindle Scribe, so I’m glad to hear that the software features added will come to it as I won’t need to upgrade but, I might get the colour display model version 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

These don’t sound awe inspiring to me.

I’m currently using a 2010 Kindle Keyboard. I cannot live without these page turn buttons and it’s depressing to see Kindle pricing creep up while the Oasis hasn’t even gotten USB-C

I’d like to just try a text book with colour plates on the colorsoft thing

I don’t know anything about kindles… but reading the comments I feel like Amazon should have consulted their users and made a new oasis with usb-c, that seems to be what everyone wants!

Unnecessary to have a color kindle and on top of that 280$- Straight No. I am happy with my Kindle Paperwhite.

I like the new color on the basic Kindle, and that the bezel matches the back is a great touch. That’s something I’d like to see them do with the Fire tablets. A few generations ago, they had a white Fire with white bezels. But nothing like it since.

I really have no interest in a color kindle. But the new paper white got my interest piqued.

What’s with that annoying flashing every time you touch the screen?? I would get so annoyed with that. Can that be turned off or something?

I’m in the market for a new e reader. Having had my basic kindle from 2017, it’s showing its age with the PPI and slowness. Torn between staying with Amazon or moving to kobo. Dunno if any of these improvements (and their price increases) are worth it

Unfortunately I might have to consider one of these now that the Barnes and Noble Nook is getting old. I just wish it was a more “open and DRM free” friendly device.

Come on just give us an updated Oasis

Ahhhh, that’s the reason the other models have been out of stock for so long.

    For these guys.

    Here’s the Kindle Colorsoft!
Does it have page turn buttons?
    No
    Next….

The best kindle is the IPad.

    BUT CAN YOU SCROLL???

  23. @zagohcap

    October 16, 2024 at 9:16 pm

So basically the new Scribe is just a white sticker around the screen lol

  24. @bgfd1

    October 16, 2024 at 9:19 pm

I’m sticking with my KIndle Oasis because of the physical page turn buttons.
