As the coronavirus pandemic raged in her native Sri Lanka, monk JayaShri Maathaa had a thought: two magical words that planted something beautiful in her mind and blossomed into a whole new way of being. She shares how this mantra transformed her life — and the surprising ways gratitude can invite bliss, joy and harmony between yourself and all that surrounds you.

TEDX has now started marketing religion. Bravo! As the remnants of postmodernism are pouring out, is buddhism your solution? Get out!

What’s the problem with learning about other religions? I find it very useful and beneficial. She’s not telling you to worship her God, she’s saying her story.

@Chrystian Vigil “Other religions” NEVER includes Christianity. Just saying.

@J Benet Maybe because Christianity and its followers already try to indoctrinate every living thing to exist. Just saying.

She is just pointing out gratitude and how it affect your head space in a positive manner. I used to hate hearing about religion (it’s had a negative connotation to me for the longest time) but I’ve learned there are bits of philosophy and different ways to view the same thing. Just because is related to religion doesn’t make it all bad.

You can get twenty years worth of meditation with Psilocybin; in one sitting.
Shrooms and meditation have legit saved my life.

I think i know what you mean. I experienced it myself. Tho i don’t know if it saved my life, i know it had a deep impact.
But i think 20 years of meditations are more than just reaching a state of mind. It is also a habit. It is time spent for yourself. It is time spent nurturing your garden. This time is not something you can get by having an experience. But what you might get is the wisdom of 20 years of meditation. But i would say wisdom is only a part of it. The other part is loving kindness. There are many things you still get from meditating. And the most important thing is Remembering yourself. You can easily forget one sitting. Maybe you can still remember every detail of the sitting but (at least as i experienced it) your insight will fade with time. This is because my psylo trip last years was not done by me. It was done by my past self. It may have some things in common but there are new sides of me i have to experience again. And tbh i prefer meditation for this. Because i dont want to take psylo in order to achieve something. I take it to not having to achieve.

When I wake up in the morning, I used to say Thankyou, for another day to be lived and enjoyed. Not to any God or religion, just to being alive. But this year has been a real bummer hasn’t it! 😂

Thank you and grateful are two powerful and beautiful words. I consider them a blessing to be able to say them. But only if you really are thankful or grateful. No on the fence.
Even in times of great tragedy there can be things to be grateful and thankful for. Pay attention to often you do it. It will become habit forming and maybe give joy rather hate.

Thank you for this!! Yes, indeed, so true. I began doing this about a year and a half ago for no other reason than to momentarily arrest my mind. As an immediate consequence I began to experience MIRACLES from out of nowhere. Consistently. And it’s ongoing. I always start a conversation or check out services with those two words, and MIRACLES ABOUND!! Yes, thank you for even reading this. Gratitude to each and every one of you!!

Thank you for reminding us what we already know! We need it , especially now during this hard year.
We need to be thankful for this trial. It’s like a test at school: if we pass it we move to the next grade.
Let’s be strong and grateful

eastern religions use the same tricks as abrahamic religions to divert you from reality towards make believe falsehoods.
step 1: convince you that you’re somehow faulty
step 2: convince you that they have the solution
step 3: convince you that there is invisible machinery that will work as long as you internalize belief in magic by repetition
bs disguised as wisdom
