-> Spiritist is who professes Spiritism, the Gospel continuation
It has began with the books by Allan Kardec and continued in the books by Francisco C. Xavier, the greatest and more important medium/prophet of spirits of the last centuries…

No fun can be had by one. Even if the other is a dog or animal can make it fun.

    What is FUN?
Well, the etymology (origin) of the world is Arabic (fann = فن), whic means “art”!

Nice! “Art”, a product of creativity. And, the very first activity noted in that old “outdated” book that so many often criticize, the Bible.: “in the beginning God created….”

Do you have a source please? I need to dig more into the origin of the word to share it with others

    • Hannah Miller

      March 16, 2023 at 11:23 pm

I just learned the original meaning of the word “art” was something like, any small part that represents the whole which it’s apart of .of that makes sense? Hope I remembered it right. But it makes me think since human minds are the things analyzing and using words to even describe these things, art is just whatever humans find interesting engaging and fun….which goes back to what you said about the etymology of fun!

It actually comes from Middle English “fonne, fon” (“foolish, simple, silly”) or “fonnen” (“make a fool of”). Great coincidence though!

While healthy relationships are a part of your Fabulous journey, so is solitude. Have you created time to spend with yourself lately? Really tune in and just be? There is one relationship at the core of all others: you-to-you.

I’ve had much fun in life by deciding early on that I liked travel and you don’t have to work much if you live modestly and don’t buy in to Madison Ave’s materialism narrative. To that end, I lived modestly, saved my money and only had to work ~20 years of my adult life (+6 years of college). This allowed me to take 10 years off when I was 35 and retire when I was 54. I’ve traveled the world via sailboat, paddling, bicycle touring and backpacking. Collecting experiences is much more fun than just buying stuff.

Who is going around saying adults can’t be playful, lighthearted and frivolous? What…why? Adulthood should be all work and seriousness and we can’t do anything we did as a child? Really?
I call BS! Of course we can do those things. You probably don’t want to do them at a work meeting if it doesn’t fit the atmosphere of your job.
But I have even been in work meetings where there were joking and lighthearted and fun moments(it is a job of course and you have to get work done so it’s usually just moments of it)
We need to balance work and play and rest. Being home and doing childcare, housework or yardwork is also work even if you don’t get paid for it.
Don’t suppress your inner child all the time.

when I was younger I worked on farms in exchange for room and board and had a lot of fun. But having no home base and being impoverished took it’s toll on me. I’ve had a 50 hr a week regular job for 1.5 years now. I’m grateful to be financially stable and to afford my apartment, but my job is crushing me. I need to find a job that lets me have some fun, but also be safe, and earn a livable wage. Wish me luck to figure this conundrum out!

Watching a comedy with family or friends and laughing over it, later discussing and talking about it IS a lot of fun, so let’s not knock TV or Movies out of the fun category.
I think her definition of fun is too narrow. Fun is on a range/spectrum and the description given seems to be only at the highest range.
