Anyone else feel like this is a bunch of anecdotal evidence and no facts? My experience is in stark contrast to this, but I’m probably in the minority.

I’m a man who walks alone kicking around in the Maya where Idiocracy became a documentary and every day is a hundred new episodes of Pinky and the Brain. It’s no level of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. This is just another sheeple commanded by psychopath overlords calling the control system the way to live. Bahaaaaaaa.

The only problem with this talk is that it’s much too short. Kasley, I could listen to you for hours and hours. For someone who claims to be introverted, I find you incredibly CHARISMATIC. Regarding the subject, I’ve never lacked friends for most of my life (I’m 66 at present), but temporarily – I hope!!! – I’m going through a period of financial and administrative problems which are not conducive to socializing. But I am fully aware of the importance of not cutting oneself off and living like a hermit. You mentioned a book you have written, and I would very much like to read it. After writing a superbly interesting book on EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE, the great Daniel Goleman followed up with a remarkable book on SOCIAL (we can also say RELATIONAL) INTELLIGENCE. At this very moment, YouTube is proposing a video featuring you to me entitled ‘Why loneliness feels so real even when it’s not’. I would like to finish by saying that you’re a stunningly beautiful woman, elegant and with class (a lovely trouser suit, and stiletto heels I couldn’t take my eyes off…). Giving a TED or TEDx talk does not mean that a woman cannot highlight/display her femininity. In several ways you are the epitome of the perfect woman, at least in terms of beauty, elegance, femininity and intelligence. I’m going to google you because you fascinate me and I really want to know more about you. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

In my experience all relationships devolve down to urges and obligations. The urges can be handled by a professional and the obligations are best avoided, even at the high cost of loneliness and shortened life. I have been mangled and maimed by the obligations so my advice is to run away ASAP from emotional entanglement.

there is no need to enforce people to be social. we are social as much as we need to. if you lack that, you go fix that by being more social. not everyone going on ted to give a talk is a revolutionary, this sounded like a completing waste of time.

  11. @andrewmagic1111

    March 15, 2025 at 1:40 am

I see! First, she tells us her friend did it, and then it turns out it was her! That’s exactly where social health problems stem from 😅

    Joking aside, it’s a first-world problem.

Seriously! I want to challenge you – travel to Vietnam and go to the beach at 5 am. You’ll see crowds of people socializing before work – men playing ball, ladies dancing.

Okay, let’s get real! I’ve been using an app called Meetup. In some big cities like Bangkok, you can go to multiple events each day and connect with real people. I believe a shortcut to better social health could be cutting down on social media. They give us a false sense of social interaction while leaving the actual void inside us open.

    Peace, y’all!

  12. @calexprenas

    March 15, 2025 at 4:11 am

It’s not that simple. I met the criteria espoused in this video – my relationships were top priority. I constantly had plans with people, was constantly texting friends, would regularly have long phone convos, etc etc. But I often didn’t feel fully known, understood, or accepted/respected, or comfortable. Most weren’t the right people for me, and I was looking for the wrong things in my relationships – namely, validation. I was miserable deep down, and much happier having ended most of those particular relationships.

However you define social health, it has to consider people’s capacity to form healthy relationships and connect with suitable people in the first place. A lot of people will need to work on themselves first.

I think it is hard to build a healthy social relationship with others. As an introvert, I am afraid to meet someone new and share my life with them. It’s difficult to make the first step. And then, all the people and things are periodical, it would be changed with time passing. So I am not capable to maintain a long term relationship with others.

Strange how you fail to address the why are people so isolated and mentally damaged now. Is the cause of this damage 4 years of social distancing, lockdowns, nonstop covid death rates on CNN, nonstop propaganda demonizing the part of society that opposed the mRNA shots, illegal mandates and religious zealots who proclaim to “be the science!” Were you one of the virtue signaling types on social media calling for the discriminatory treatment of “the unvaccinated”? Were you silent when the Biden regime fired those who opposed medical experimenting on the public? Were you silent when schools were closed? Were you silent when Biden/Harris was calling half the country “Nazis”?

III. I’m simply going to add as well: why social health is the key to happinesses and longevity in the eras of depression, confrontation and systemic risks and the acceleration of the fragmentation family structure with its associated growing importance of loneliness and isolation.

Investors want founders who understand the financial reality of their business. Messy data, misunderstood metrics, or waiting until you’re nearly out of cash to start fundraising can cost founders leverage, valuation, and even a term sheet.

In this episode of Build Mode, host Isabelle Johannesen sits down with Sasha Orloff, founder and CEO of Puzzle and Startup Battlefield alum, to talk about what he’s learned from building companies that have raised more than $1 billion collectively.

Sasha breaks down what investors look for during fundraising, which financial metrics founders should know by heart, and why VCs don’t expect your startup to be perfect—they expect you to understand its reality. He also shares how he nearly lost a term sheet because his data room wasn’t ready, how fundraising diligence changes as a startup grows, and why getting your financial house in order can help founders raise with more confidence and leverage.

They get into:
– What raising more than $1 billion across multiple companies taught Sasha about fundraising
– Why investors value founders who have a strong grasp of their company’s financial reality
– The financial metrics founders should know before pitching VCs
How investor expectations change from pre-seed and seed through Series A, B, and beyond
– Why revenue growth and the quality of that revenue are critical fundraising metrics
– How runway, margins, sales efficiency, and profitability factor into investor decisions
– Why waiting until you’re running out of cash can hurt your fundraising leverage
– How Sasha nearly lost a term sheet because his data room wasn’t ready
– Why financial organization and compliance can influence investor confidence and startup valuations
– What founders should have prepared for the due diligence process
– Why VCs don’t expect perfection—and why being honest about what isn’t working can make for a stronger pitch
– How Sasha’s own fundraising and finance frustrations ultimately led him to build Puzzle
– How AI could change the way startups manage accounting and understand their financial health
