That’s what we really don’t need, militarizing the robots 😮😢😢.

    • @TheGogetassj

      October 12, 2025 at 11:08 am

Why not? Would rather sending robot into war zone than men. Would rather have robot diffusing bombs than men. Plus many other tasks we can use robot instead of humans

    • @Siranoxz

      October 12, 2025 at 2:04 pm

It was going to happen anyway.
But probably remote controlled rather then AI automated.

    • @urbanstrencan

      October 12, 2025 at 2:08 pm

@@TheGogetassj for other tasks I agree but we don’t need even more war and machines to make war easier

This founder’s vision for using robots in the military is ridiculous. Protection from who, exactly? That’s the real question. The problem isn’t the robot itself; it’s how it will be used. We’ve already seen how technology meant for “protection” often ends up being used for control.
Weaponized robots are not science fiction anymore. Companies like Boston Dynamics and Ghost Robotics have already demonstrated robots capable of carrying weapons. And when people say, “Don’t worry, humans will stay in control,” I can’t help but laugh. As an engineer, I’ve heard that promise before; in the 1990s, when automation was sold as a way to “help” workers, but instead replaced thousands of jobs.
We’re told these machines are for safety and security, but that’s always how it starts. Fear is one of the oldest tools for manipulation. The real danger isn’t the robot; it’s the human intent behind it. Governments and corporations don’t have the best track record when it comes to using technology responsibly, and I see no reason to trust them now.

I agree with you, but I do think it’s important to acknowledge that this is not a malicious, premeditated plan. I think these developers are sincerely hopeful about this robotic future, and I think that’s even scarier… Genuinely enthusiastic people are always the most dangerous, because norms and common sense can be set aside in pursuit of the “greater good.”

    • @christophermontoya5526

      October 12, 2025 at 5:29 pm

@Royce16727 Like anything else it can be used for good or bad.

    • @Royce16727

      October 12, 2025 at 6:03 pm

@@christophermontoya5526 Yep. I honestly think the developers genuinely believe it will be used for “good,” but if the potential for “bad” exist; it will be exploited. 🤷 I guess all we can do is try to maximize the “good.”

If a robot had an infrared sensor and a gun you’d die before you even registered what you’re looking at. Not in this state though, maybe once they have the speed of traditional robots.

This kind of Tech, in general, is pretty cool. There are definitely some use cases where it could be valuable, but I can’t help but wonder: will future historians be referencing videos like this in a few hundred years after the Robot Wars? Maybe not, because all the humans might not be here anymore… Apprehensive–lol
