This is actually an “apple saw”
It’s used in apple growing in parts of India and other countries
This shape helps to get a clean cut at last when the branch is almost cut
Because mostly at very last the cut does not get clean in most most projects

Lopping saws are that shape because they are a pull saw rather than a push saw which most traditional saws are.
To keep the teeth engaged with the material, the saw blade must transcribe the same arc as the arm powering the saw.
Drag your saw slowly across some material you wish to cut and feel how it is the curve that keeps the teeth engaged on and cutting the material. The teeth are cut and sharpened facing the opposite way to a push saw as well. The bevels are on the opposite side of each tooth. The cut is made on the pull stroke and the bevels shed the sawdust out of the cut behind the cutting teeth.

That saw is curved because the surface youre cutting is curved. If it was flat you would only hit the branch in one spot, with the curve it catches all parts of the saw when cutting.
