Chinese AI are not just about LLMs which were largely invented for the American service based industries. Chinese play along with them because that is where the money is. In China, equal emphasis is placed on AI applications on the physical world, and they’re far ahead of their American counterparts. Chinese use a wholistic approach on AI and treat it as a tool to assist mankind, a much healthier attitude towards this new found technology. Whereas if you ask average Americans about AI, they are either ambivalent about it or even downright reject it.
