Based on the minification of his face through his lenses I assume he’s a high myope. That means the lenses have to be thicker at the outer wall of the lens and thinner in the middle. There’s only so much space you can take up inside a headset like that especially towards the peripheral edges.
While near sighted people generally have a better time with contacts that far sighted people based on that same shape factor (it hugs the eye better) some people just don’t have great eyes for contacts with dryness, corneal issues, etc.

Actually streaming IS the reason I want it. I have a big room for VR. I have an Index. But some games are so active I don’t want to deal with the cable twisting I currently deal with.
