I work in a factory in Central Wisconsin. My coworkers and I are capable of performing tasks at least three times faster than Digit. However, Digit doesn’t get sick or require vacation or benefits or demands weekends off. For most factory tasks, Digit could be tethered to a power source from overhead. Kinda makes me fear for my job. I am a huge fan of robotics and Digit is a huge leap forward in my opinion. Bear this in mind: Who are you really trying to help?

Elderly care would be a good application as well. Helping carry heavy things and helping elderly get up when they fall.

Sounds like something Amazon would try to use them realize it’s not that easy to replace humans until there is some rudimentary AI

Will replace the majority of them. Universal basic income will become a reality for low iq people in the future.

    • CoriSparks

      September 17, 2021 at 6:27 pm

@Joey Gonker wtf does IQ have to do with any of this?

    • Joey Gonker

      September 17, 2021 at 6:35 pm

@CoriSparks Why would you want to waste time training an idiot when you can get a programmed robot to do the same job and not have to worry about them quitting. Humans suck when comes to manual labor.

I would like to see a less expensive robot that would help me in my home. At 80, I don’t climb ladders and I don’t lift stuff that is heavy. There is also the safety issue. If I fall, I need a little help getting up. Maybe in the near future.

  28. Mathyou Schmitz

    September 18, 2021 at 4:06 am

O great, can’t wait for the govt to make anit robot hate laws and discrimination because this will put more people out of work that need a job.

i dont get it, you want them to deliver postparcels, their so slow, a human is more quick and efficient, and wouldnt you need to recharged them every block, and require human supervision, sounds too expensive?
