As an aspiring truck driver (working towards my license as we speak) I’m so tempted by the XReal One.
A 100″+ screen in a truck would be brilliant to just hook up to my iPhone, MacBook or even maybe I’ll get a Steamdeck, who knows…
I’d probably mostly use it with the MacBook as secondary monitor though.

Im just holding off on the ray-bans until the first pair with a display show up. They dont need to be the Orions, im just not interested in a camera system where no view finder is present. Also it would be nice to have some notification/quick reply system present in the displays. Then afterwards the Orions should be much closer to their consumer launch

I have trouble recognizing faces, as well as remembering people’s names. I need AR smart glasses to pop up the name of the person in front of me. I would also like them to constantly record video so I can look at things I do later. Plus, they should look like regular glasses, with no lights or pieces sticking out of them. No more glassholes. I don’t think any of the current smart glasses can do this yet.

Don’t waste money on them , there cool and all to watch stuff but to play games is really delayed and laggy , I don’t think they really focus on something like that at the moment

I think Apple missed the boat by now linking the iPhone to the AVP. The iPhone provides a lot of horsepower and could take the weight (and cost) off the AVP. I guess we’ll see how it plays out.

Not wearing any unless I trust the company with my privacy, it is built in and my data isn’t collected to train AI models (among other uses).

But I think this is mixing the different use of the glasses. I see:
– Assistant with the real world (those ones are about taking photos, commenting what you see, finding info …) It’s basically realtime agent that sees what you see. Meta Ray bans go there
– Screens for other devices. This is for any device that can be plugged to a bigger screen. Xreal Goes there.

I think the second case is available now and we can get immediate benefits from it. However the second case still needs work. We need the whole agents concept running on a device connected to the glasses like … the phone.

Would you recommend Halliday glasses? I was thinking of pre-ordering them considering the discount and then getting Transitions GEN S lenses from Lensology. I like the idea of the DigiWindow projector and 35 grams weight and regular glasses form factor. Waves guides are less visible in the bright sunlight, I heard these glasses don’t have that problem.
