This doesn’t really seem like a mid-range phone. It’s a more affordable & attainable flagship

I’ve been waiting for a suitable replacement for my Galaxy S9+… this is it. Only thing it’s missing is the O2/Hr sensor.

I feel like I should wait for for the pixel 4a 5g. To me 120hz and sd 865 are rather gimmicky. 120hz will probably go unnoticed after the first initial impression. With the sd 865 most people don’t need that much power. Unless you are addicted to COD or Fornite there is only a handful of games worth playing for a considerable amount of time that take advantage of the sd865.

I got mine by trading in my S9plus. TMO gave me $500 credit. Paid $270 to pay off the s20fe the difference and taxes. I thought it was a good deal!

Er , if only my salary and corresponding ‘disposable income’ had gone up (by a lot) to make the thought of a 600GBP phone ‘affordable’. Oh and it’s 700 GBP for the 5G version!

Being an owner of the S20 Ultra, I can say that I think the FE will beat other phones easily at the same price range if you care about specs. My ultra is a beast. Samsung did phenomenal this year.

700 USD was the price of flagships 5 years ago…

  32. 15Stratos

    October 5, 2020 at 9:01 am

It’s a phone that cuts all the unnecessary corners that would otherwise add up to the expensive af flagship prices.Doing that while still being an amazing phone with practically no shortcomings.

I think we need to redefine budget, midrange, and flagship. We can’t define by price anymore. This phone is midrange price but flagship performance.

  42. steve k

Why the FE is not like any other mid range phone is the internals are flagship. Other mid ranges might look prettier but Id much rather have a SD 865 than a SD765G. Samsung cut down on the right places giving the FE pretty much all the drooling features of the flagship just not the glass back and I can live with that.

  43. Nicholas Lombardi

    October 5, 2020 at 4:45 pm

I fail to see how a SD865 and 120hz screen, and 600-700$ price tag count as mid range.

  48. René Sánchez

    October 5, 2020 at 8:36 pm

WHY MIDRANGE?? BECAUSE OF THE PRICE?? IT IS´NT CHEAP MAN, JUST LESS EXPENSIVE

  54. MrCbj102

i wouldn’t consider this midrange, something like the oneplus nord is midrange, this is several steps above that

  55. Supercookie

    October 6, 2020 at 4:14 am

It really is a cheap flagship

  56. Redrum 51

    October 6, 2020 at 4:50 am

Correction, it is more of a flagship than a mid range phone . 5g with 120hz screen oled panel with a 4500 mah battery and best of all the same snapdragon variant as the one in the s20 line up. I mean to put it simple, if this is a mid range phone so is the base iphone 11 lol

  57. Gilad Kingsley

    October 6, 2020 at 9:57 am

This is not a mid range phone…

I found that the s20 FE to be a great purchase. I just recently got mine and everything you mention in your video we’re pretty much spot on. Great food analogy by the way. It’s not the best of the best but it really doesn’t have to be it’s a great phone with top of the line chipset wrapped in a really nice package at an affordable price.

No smartphone should cost more than $800, People should stop buying anything more than that.

What makes 700 dollar phone a midrange…it is still expensive.

We need flat screen (without stupid curve edges) with hard back (not glass) in the first place. this kind of design make our life more easier, so we don’t have to add bulky cases.

phone makers making phone so fragile with useless specs and frils, so they can jack up the price.

    Ideal specs ….

    OLED screen with 450ppi resolution
    No need 4k

Camera should be like in Pixel phones don’t need more cameras

Fluent operation with 2 days battery

    That’s it

  73. D S

    October 8, 2020 at 7:26 pm

Who the f still watches CNET especially for tech. 50sec of pizza comparisons in a 3min clip. No mention of price. TRASH
