I’ve always felt Apple held back pencil support. They have all the other inputs to navigate in the AVP. There’s eye/pinch, voice, touch and external keyboard. I don’t know why but the lack of both any haptics whatsoever and Pencil support always seemed like a deliberate choice by Apple.

    It’s useful for sculpting

AVP is still in its infancy but Apple Pencil support (even if it’s just the “Pro” one), would make a huge difference in their ecosystem.

Right now 3D models made with these apps aren’t terribly refined or easy to work with but I’d love to send 3D notes or drawings to friends.

So, they discontinued their tracked wireless mouse/keyboard combo then gave us a pen…

Can we control the meta main menu with the pen

Looking at the new Apple Pencil features, I believe it will have similar features to this Logitech stylus with a software update. If not, the fourth generation Apple Pencil will have it.

apple is so far behind meta
this i why a open market is better than a closed ecosystem

    • @Biru_to

      June 23, 2024 at 8:44 pm

Both of them are closed ecosystems, though. Everything has to be approved by Meta.

Apple will have this soon- Apple Pencil Pro Pro. $299

How long can someone hold their hand in the air to draw? It’s tiring. I don’t think it’s going to become mainstream.

    • @Drstrange3000

      June 21, 2024 at 8:53 pm

You could probably just draw normally though. Just draw anywhere on your desk in passthrough.

    • @pallidinyou

      June 22, 2024 at 1:46 pm

I’ve drawn in the air with my controller for what seemed like minutes at a time with no discomfort.
Really you don’t even think about anything other than what you’re doing. Get tired…rest for a second and move on. No different than painting on a canvas really.

    • @manolobiene

      June 23, 2024 at 3:42 pm

You could use it as a full replacement to a drawing tablet, because it will work on any surface anywhere. Pair that with a comfortable strap (BoboVR M3 PRO) and this becomes a really powerful tool, really

  13. @mgratk

    June 21, 2024 at 8:30 pm

A single Q3 controller is 75 bucks. This is more than twice the price if you include the “inkwell” charging base.

    • @rtxnonlhr

      June 21, 2024 at 10:12 pm

i had a broken left q2 controller three years ago and the price for replacing it was expensive that i still didn’t mange to replace it ????

Even if it works for the Quest 2, the passthrough mode on it is terrible and grainy (I know it’s nearly 4 years old) but I would be curious of people’s opinions with this stylus and on the Quest 2.

  17. @salvasaur

    June 21, 2024 at 10:44 pm

    I don’t understand the appeal

  18. @charlescdt6509

Spen has been doing this for years. CNET would know this if they didnt think everything was made by Apple.

    • @lykoszero

      June 21, 2024 at 11:57 pm

      Doing what exactly?

    • @JavenarchX

      June 23, 2024 at 10:31 am

They are always banging on about Apple

    • @lykoszero

      June 23, 2024 at 10:43 am

@JavenarchX  no I mean what has the s pen been doing? Because I don’t think it works on any virtual headset or anything that is VR

  19. @curlynicks

    June 21, 2024 at 11:45 pm

Apple will make it, improves a little bit, and sell it for $799, and sheeps will throw their money and gawk at it ????

  23. @pimisi

    June 22, 2024 at 4:44 am

“Apple Pencil Price”? I wonder why YouTube tech reviewers always seem to believe that only Apple should be allowed to charge premium prices for good products. They consistently criticize other companies for charging fair prices for innovative products.

  24. @lemovision

    June 22, 2024 at 6:42 am

Please stop comparing anything to apple products for no reason, also in that area Wacom is leader not apple

  25. @MoeFokah

Can you imagine creating a physical item and a digital version of it at the same time.

  28. @huhuhuh525

    June 23, 2024 at 9:12 am

perhaps is a skill issue, but as someone who does 3D a lot, these 3D sketch tools really seems gimmicky. It only seems to be useful when you are sculpting, and even then, this feels like it lacks the precision control compare to what is already out there. VR or AR does have eye strain issue as well.

In the next 8 years from Jun 23rd 2024 – after future Apple will use patten similar to Meta / facebook : lol ????
