What would make me switch from a Samsung Android to Apple iPhone? Probably nothing at this point, but here are some things Apple needs to compete with the competition.
1) 120hz @ 1440P
2) USB-C
3) More discrete camera system on the front
4) More customization options
5) On-screen fingerprint scanner
6) Better battery
7) No more proprietary BS

They won’t go usb c, they will bring magnetic magsafe just as their macbook, a cable which magneticaly attaches to charging port for phone to charge

They intended to keep Touch ID when the iPhone X came out, but they couldn’t get it to work well during protoypes. They’re using COVID-19 as their reasoning for Touch ID as Face ID doesn’t work with a mask. Basically they always intended it to be there and they can use COVID-19 to not have to admit to their mistakes.

I never liked iPhone, my iPhone 8 had a pretty bad camera, and over all it was nice to the touch but, it was pretty boring, I enjoy mySamsung s20, my Samsung have always had good cameras, since my Samsung s7 edge, the audio is so much better threw Bluetooth and all, there lower end bass not just a bass boosted mid bass like iPhone, I get dolby atmos and there is a difference, the camera on my s20 is better than the iPhone 11 and 12 camera, when iPhone gets more freedom and better cameras I’ll switch back but Samsung you just get more things on a samsung… but I still like iPhone but there just boring.

There’s been an idea for the iPhone to have a completely new port, MacBook MagSafe style. (The kind that disconnects when yanked, not the wireless charger.) It’s not a rumor from a reliable source or anything, but it’s a nice alternative we can wish for.
The fact that they’re rumored to bring MagSafe back to the MacBook makes me think it could actually happen.

A completely portless iPhone would be hard to charge in a vehicle, or in an office, or on the go. I think there’s a need to have some kind of chorded charge available. Most vehicles come standard with USB in them, and its easy for people to have an adapter with them at work, or on the go. Totally wireless makes this more complicated, and I’m not sure making people required to buy another charger is a good move.

I hate Touch ID. It has never worked reliably for me, on any device. I don’t believe the removal of the lightning port is a bad thing. It is likely going to something similar to what they have on the iPad as the smart connector, as it can transfer both data and power.

Apple can’t heavily rely on the wireless charging solely as it is ridiculously slower than its competitors on the market, it will definitely hurt the sales by ditching the lightning port charging too early.

I was waiting for the option “desk mode” of Samsung or huawei, that turns your phone into a laptop or a pc using your usb-c adapter (you can connect a pc keyboard and mouse. I mean, they have the most powerful processor, and you only can use it in their tini 6.7 inch display with that giant notch. Idk. In think the phone is gonna be the main and only device that we need to carry, and maybe a foldable screen to connect your phone in pc mode. Maybe they need to sell more ipads or create a strong wireless connection between your phone and an external display. I thing that even the basic laptops could be replaced by flagship phones with this function.

that just too bad to get rid of lightening Connecter. I have bought so much accessory related to lightening connecter and it would be a waste to just throw them away. other companies are changing to usb c but apple should just stand their ground on the lightening connecter for the iPhone bipod and iPad. apple always have been such a trend starter and don’t care what others do so please just stay that way and let others follow apple great things. laughing my as off

It blows my mind how many tech reviewers are so gullible as to believe that Apple would actually remove the Lightning port from all their iPhones this year. Look at how many 2021 cars are being sold with wired Apple CarPlay, if Apple were to remove the Lightning port this year well charging royalties for CarPlay on millions of new car in the same year they would be in for a historic class action lawsuit.

Most probably after the introduction of magsafe wireless chargers. The lightning to usb-c cable might then disappear on the next iPhone model.

Charging wirelessly hasn’t been a problem for me personally, and you can get decent Qi charger at a low price. Charging wirelessly overnight works for me. Understandably, that doesn’t work for everyone.
And it’s a bigger issue if you want to connect with peripheral devices.
If you’re using the iPhone to create low-budget movies all wireless wouldn’t work. What’s more, Apple has a major strategy to promote the iPhone as a “movie making” device.
There is an entire community using the iPhone to bring their film projects to life. And a whole ecosystem of peripherals built on filming with an iPhone.
Going all in on wireless charging would abandon a clear strategy. And just alienate a large community of dedicated customers.

I would like to have a touch ID again on the iPhone. But not under the screen. They simply don’t work half the time with my finger print. But a finger print reader in the power button would be very good to have.

Apple could make any of these technologies in a quality product! Their problem is the supply chain and delivery! They deliver quality on a grand scale. It’s a logistics problem.

Yes would love Touch ID alternative. Not happy about the wireless charging and no alternative there. By the way I tried the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max and was very torn because so size but went with 12 Pro Max and glad I did although I also carry a 12 and love it.

Face I.D was one of the reason I left my 11pro to the Note20 Ultra 5G and I’m loving it…but hey…I could go back..IF USB C/ 120 hz refresh rate is part of it
