“Joyful moments of socializing??!” She has to be kidding, right? For most people, the commute is the only alone-time people have for themselves.

Fully agree. She didn’t spend single second in her life wondering what other people may think about other around them. 1h alone have far more value than 10h with people, specially when others assume you have to see their company as fun for some reasons.

This is so dumb. Feng Shue your fridge? Gime me a break. Why is this lady pretending that the common mans actions are responsible for carbon emissions? These changes wouldn’t do jack. Go preach to the third world countries that put out 90% of the co2. Lecture the companies that pay children 10 cents a day to get their arms mangled in machinery while making shoes for Nike, or the 12 year olds who are riddled with cancer because they sat in a factory, inhaling toxic fumes 20 hours a day while they make those smart phones that every single person in that audience, and the person on stage doing the preaching, has. You gotta tell those little kids that they’re the ones who are killing the Earth! That’s what they need, a crushing sense of guilt to go along with their chronic health issues, constant starvation, and an ever present suicidal ideation because theyre parents are both dead, they live in a cardboard box in an alley, and have absolutely nothing in their short, sad life to look forward to except the sweet release of death. Maybe they’ll be one of the lucky ones who get their organs harvested by the government so rich people from the US and Europe can get that new heart, or a kidney, for less than they make in a single day. Nothing makes you feel young again quite like having the organs of a teenager, and getting your old blood swapped out with that young, adrenochrome filled blood that’s freshly squeezed from a tortured child.

Just kidding, if you want to save the world all you gotta do is carpool with Jim, and eat lettuce before it goes bad. I guess.

I do not necessarily disagree… but I never understood – and still don’t – why “less” has a negative connotation. Drive / fly less also means spend less money; eat less meat also means add less calories to your body and therefore stay slim and sexy and healthier and die “less sooner”. To do our part for the climate change, we can even conclude that we actually have to do less. So eventually less is good!

Al of these suggestions seem kind of lame. I believe individuals need to make big changes, not moving stuff around in your fridge.

This new way of treating depression starts with rewiring the brain #TEDTalks

The idea that depression comes from a chemical imbalance in the brain has shaped treatment for decades. Neuroscientist Lisa Monteggia shares research suggesting that’s not the whole story — and shows how a decades-old drug could upend what we thought we knew about depression, with the potential to offer relief within hours.
