If you ate bread this week (or cooked with salt and oil), you probably benefited from something millions miss out on: food fortification. Social entrepreneur Felix Brooks-church is on a mission to solve “hidden hunger” — malnutrition caused by a lack of nutrients — by fortifying everyday foods for regions of the world hit hardest by food insecurity. Laying out a pragmatic vision to improve food systems globally, he reminds us that hunger doesn’t always look like an empty plate. (Recorded at TED2026 on April 14, 2026)

Little do most people know about hidden hunger. Until you have seen a child suffer from anemia, stunting or preventable neural tube defects, it’s hard to grasp why food fortification matters. This is the kind of innovation that quietly saves millions of lives, reaching families in the most remote communities through an incredibly brilliant machine. What an extraordinary legacy. This is GENIUS!!!🙏

Agriculture brought as many problems as solutions. Nourishment refers to satisfaction not sustenance. We can eat anything to derive energy from, and continue to breath. Nourishment is the journey people recall when talking about life. 🐾🪜👣

It’s a fatal oversight to talk about food security without investing in food fortification. Hidden hunger isn’t a problem for the future — it’s an active crisis killing thousands of children and women every single day. Sanku technology is the difference between a child who thrives and a child we lose.
