Hi, great video. I have the Hero 8 with ND Filters. A problem with it is that there are no gimbals for the Hero 8. Can you throw a gimbal on the 9?

Bigger??? I honestly would like to see them come out with a base spec camera that they can make as small as possible. Maybe like a super slim version. It would be great to have a camera that records 2k maximum at 240fps. Give me that with Hypersmooth3 and no live streaming. That would be cool to see how small and affordable that camera is. It would be a great 2nd point of view option.

I dont understand the need of 5k at the moment. Most people can’t even watch the videos at 5k. They shouldve just perfected the 4k to have more fps like 120fps or even to 240fps

Just because you don’t understand it doesn’t mean that it’s not a useful addition. For instance, recording in 5K but delivering in 4K should result in 4K video that is crisper.

      September 16, 2020 at 10:24 pm

5k is about editing to 4k.. framing, cropping effects tracking.. you wouldnt wanna do that in 4k down to qhd and then upscale back to 4k.

How’s the low light performance? Next to battery life, that’s been the single biggest issue for years.

    • RandomUploads

      September 16, 2020 at 11:42 pm

Lol, they keep chasing resoloution instead of listening to performance issues.

    • Mongopotamus

      September 17, 2020 at 12:30 am

Exactly…. and a 40% battery life improvement isn’t nearly enough…. still barely an hour of film time. Can’t change batteries in the ocean/river/snow/etc.

I don’t think that I need to replace my gopro8 image quality is probably the same

All the fast moving footage looks pretty crummy to me. I have YouTube settings at 1080p but the image looks 480

    • Josh Goldman @ CNET

      September 16, 2020 at 8:42 pm

Yeah, something’s up ’cause this was uploaded at 4K but I only get the 1080p option and I have plenty of bandwidth for 4K. In our other channel, we have some of the 4K footage you can check out.

Bigger battery doesn’t mean last longer…. they should develop new battery system which is small in size but powerful in long capacity

    Does it have video out?
Will streaming it to a phone still lag.
Will it still heat up to 120° (30° higher then recommended use) after 10 minutes with all the new features on?

    September 16, 2020 at 11:54 pm

Me: Hi gopro my gopro seems to be overheating.
Gopro: try lowering the frame rate and stabilization feature.
Me: I bought it for those features?!
