      @LKS I’m intrigued, do you genuinely believe that everyone you don’t recognise is “irrelevant”? That’s staggeringly arrogant if so.

    • LKS

      @Fred H no, I did the research, she is indeed irrelevant

    She always sounds like she’s doing an American accent. Idk how to explain it.

    • Maruk C

      April 14, 2023 at 10:03 am

      She’s consciously ironing out her southern accent, which slows down the speech and makes her sound like she’s an amateur even though it’s her native language…

    • my tits

      April 14, 2023 at 3:07 pm

      Well she did say she’s southern, which is usually a very pronounced accent and an easy go-to impression.

      As someone who ACTUALLY has farmer heritage it does always feel like I’m surrounded by stereotypes, the accent is hard to not notice ????

    • my tits

      April 14, 2023 at 3:07 pm

      @Maruk C Good point!

    • Timothy Warner

      April 14, 2023 at 10:41 pm

      If you want to spot an accent, listen to the vowels. Consonants are fairly limited, but vowels exist on a spectrum. Hers are obviously a little forced.

    • Ted Ehioghae

      @Tmanaz480 True.

    • Cratin

      April 14, 2023 at 1:36 pm

      youre so desparate to be a victim it’s actually embarassing

    • Ceasar Bills

      April 14, 2023 at 3:40 pm

      nothing, your only imitating their accent unless your talking about race in which she was not copying

    • Aerium Four

      April 14, 2023 at 3:45 pm

      @Ceasar Bills I’m pretty sure if I imitate the accent I’d be beaten

    • Fred H

      April 14, 2023 at 5:34 pm

      @Aerium Four Are you really that desperate to feel victimised? A very reasonable response has already been given, and I would second it with the idea that if, for whatever reason, did want to do an “African” accent (I mean, it being three times the size of the US, there’s several) then no, you would not be “beaten”. There are white Africans, so unless you also decided to black up then no, I don’t imagine it would be considered offensive.

    • Joker

      April 14, 2023 at 6:09 pm

      I think you are all talking about African American slang. Not an “African accent.” 90+% of black Americans have only spoken American english for centuries. Many white people pick it up African American slang to sell records or fit in. Some living in predominately African American neighborhoods may pick up a lot of it naturally because its how everyone in their world talks, and they aren’t beaten for that in particular. Good grief.

    • Nando Portuguez

      April 15, 2023 at 9:43 am

      Then you would just be doing an African accent, if you’re talking about race then your an idiot. There are white Africans in Africa, making me wonder what your highest level of education is.

      @CEWIIH I think it’s both personally

  11. Joker

    I don’t think that’s normal to create such a big lie like that & then brag about it. She might be some psychopath. No shame for the others not getting the role, proud to lie to Martin.

      April 15, 2023 at 6:12 am

      you realize her JOB is ACTING right?

    • Ted Ehioghae

      April 15, 2023 at 3:44 pm

      @boyman Yes, acting is lying.
      I guess that’s why actors and actresses can’t enter Heaven unless they repent.

    • antred11

      April 17, 2023 at 4:58 am

      @Ted Ehioghae Yeah, it’s either that or the fact that your space fairy BS is made-up. ????

    • GeneralWillWelsh

      April 18, 2023 at 8:12 am

      @antred11 the former seems more likely

    • CEWIIH

      April 18, 2023 at 6:36 pm

      @GeneralWillWelsh no, space fairy being made up is much more likely. I mean, actors don’t get into heaven because they act for a living? seriously?! lol I guess all those paedophile Catholic priests confess about their child abuse on their final day so they get a pass then..?! lol

    Ok but an American tricking an American with a fake British accent isn’t that impressive. It’s a lot easier to be tricked by an accent that isn’t yours, you can’t hear what’s wrong with them as easily. Could she have tricked a Brit?

This new way of treating depression starts with rewiring the brain #TEDTalks

The idea that depression comes from a chemical imbalance in the brain has shaped treatment for decades. Neuroscientist Lisa Monteggia shares research suggesting that’s not the whole story — and shows how a decades-old drug could upend what we thought we knew about depression, with the potential to offer relief within hours.
