It’s depressing to see how partisan Bloomberg news is, and I find myself more and more frequently just muting the show and reading the news that’s running in the bottom of the screen. The Bloomberg Surveillance team and Emily Chang are reflections of this Bloomberg spirit. I wish Taylor Riggs would host this show – she’s much more to the point than Emily Chang, besides being smarter and more good looking than her.

If you are going to break down Unemployment into Racial categories, then could you please also include a set of adjusted Real Unemployment (with Discouraged Workers) figures?

    Does Zoom comply with HIPAA?

  16. Emily Allstot

    June 8, 2020 at 3:34 am

Do mental health staff who meet with court-ordered clientele have to comply with HIPAA?

  17. Emily Allstot

    June 8, 2020 at 3:42 am

It is a horrible idea that should be illegal (if it isn’t already) to deploy court-ordered mental health treatment for alleged criminals via Zoom.

    • Emily Allstot

      June 8, 2020 at 3:48 am

What if you could call 911, and instead of police showing up in person to make an an arrest, they invite the assailant to Zoom and get arrested online? Then they can go to Zoom Jail.

    • Emily Allstot

      June 8, 2020 at 3:49 am

I imagine it would be like The Brady Bunch intro, styled by Bob Barker Co.

When some people go to jail, the food at jail is a major improvement in the nutrition and enjoyment of their diet. Has anyone thought of an app for a jail style meal delivery service that could eventually be scalable to distribute widespread, dynamic food aid?

A US judge ordered the Trump administration to lift its ban on Anthropic’s AI technology for federal agencies, finding the restriction wasn’t adequately justified and was partly intended to make a public example of the company. Bloomberg’s Rachel Metz explains why the ruling doesn’t immediately end Anthropic’s legal fight. Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey says AI could prove either inflationary or disinflationary depending on whether its impact on demand arrives before productivity gains on the supply side. Speaking at Jackson Hole, Bailey also discusses the UK inflation outlook, why he agrees with Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh on the limitations of forward guidance, and why the BOE will make its own rate decisions regardless of the Fed’s path. He joins Bloomberg’s Lisa Abramowicz on “Bloomberg Tech.”
