Just by changing the way Apple Watch ⌚️ charges will change things a lot. Imagine that Apple Watch ⌚️ charged like MacBooks with MagSafe, while wearing it.

This video is very ignorant and self centred. The only point of this video is if any of these technologies materialise in the far future, Bridget can say “oh I said that and Apple make it happen”. Everything that she suggest in here is coming from a perspective of someone who didn’t do research on current technology. Rather say what she saw and think would be good with her Apple product. Anyway, very poor tech journalism

The energy band likely doesn’t create enough energy to power a Smart Watch. There are super expensive non smart Rolexes that require user to wind it up every so often. So charging a smart watch nightly isn’t a big deal.

Not many Windows laptops comes in bright colors. In fact even with Cars the most popular color is White, second best is black. Blue or Red account for a small fraction of colors available. The reason why Apple doesn’t make much bright colors is because they already tried with iPhone 5c. The reason why AirPods are white is because it’s easier to find them if you drop them. They are also unmistakable in shape so people know what it is just by looking.

Other Laptop makers are following Apple by removing headphone jack and USB A Ports. Newer high end monitors are supporting USB c connections so HDMI is not needed

Always fabulous to see the absolutely gorgeous & fun Bridget Carey, she hit the nail on the head about Apple stealing tech then eventually claiming as their own.hopefully they will listen to Bridget and steal….er I mean acquire the wristband tech & then charge much higher than the reasonable $100 that the firm is currently charging

Folding screens are the worst idea !! Apple is doing better than never except for their bad business that they did with Iphone 14, otherwise they good. I mean iphone 14 is good but its not good that they gave it a slightly different chip that A16…. Which is more similar to A15.

i couldn’t wait for folding iPhone. i gave in and bought Z Flip 4. i do want to see the “better way”, “Apple way”. i am locked in with this darn seemless Apple Watch (series 6) but i may hold onto the 14 Pro until the battery won’t make it a day (for me). (To preserve my iPhone battery health, i charge the 14 Pro every other night and use my Samsung phones – Note 20 or Z Flip 4 as my “weekender”).

I love Bridget’s CNET videos. She does excellent coverage and is funny. keep them coming, please.

Apple should make a virtual Apple Store when it launches its VR goggles. That would be very “meta” (not FB meta). Then 2D stuff like lots of monitors and FaceTime. Then it should focus on VR fitness with VR biking, treadmills, rowing, boxing, and meditation.

Apple TV is already wireless with AirPlay built into most TVs. Having a box connected to multiple sources without latency issues and a WiFi remote would be a challenge. The cost would go against Apple’s strategy to make the box cheaper. Yes, it would be nice to not have to pay for multiple boxes, but there are multiple people in my home using Apple TVs on separate TVs at the same time enjoying whatever content they want. Are you seriously asking for a device to manage that?

The VC Backing the American Dream with Manan Mehta, Unshackled Ventures

Immigrant founders have built some of the world’s most valuable companies, but many still face barriers that make it harder to get a startup off the ground. Visa restrictions, limited access to friends-and-family capital, shallow networks, and a venture industry built around pattern matching can keep promising founders from getting funded before they have a chance to prove themselves.

In this episode of Build Mode () , host Isabelle Johannesen sits down with Manan Mehta, co-founder and managing partner of Unshackled Ventures, () to talk about why he believes immigrant founders represent one of venture capital’s biggest overlooked opportunities. Manan breaks down how Unshackled built an investment model designed to help founders navigate immigration barriers, why traditional VC pattern matching causes investors to miss potential outliers, and how his team evaluates founders at day zero—often before they have a product, customers, or traction. He also explains why the structural gaps that make some founders harder to fund may be exactly where investors should be looking for outsized returns.

They get into:

The four structural barriers immigrant founders face when starting companies in the U.S.

How Unshackled Ventures helps founders navigate visas while building their startups

Why VC’s reliance on pattern matching can cause investors to miss outlier founders

How Manan evaluates founders before they have a product, customers, or traction

The IQ, AQ, EQ, and SQ framework Unshackled uses to evaluate founder potential

Why resilience, lived experience, and a founder’s relationship to the problem can matter more than a polished pitch

Why structural gaps can create some of the biggest opportunities for investors

How founders without traditional networks can find alternative paths to early capital

Why founders should understand their personal “why” instead of trying to fit the traditional VC mold
