Is anyone else having issues with conversation boost? Ever since iOS 17 conversation boost is broken for me, it works until it randomly switches to noise cancellation, making it useless…

My airpods pro 1 and 2 both, git exponentially worse after a few updates. ANC, call audio quality and spatial features became practically useless after certain time.

I called Apple Support and they said they have an active case on the conversation boost bug, hopefully they will fix it soon!

Their rumored hearing aide mode for iOS 18 will be useless without it!

      Thanks for replying!

When i speak via the microphone from the earbuds, people say that my voice sounds muffled. Any idea as to why that happens, and how can i fix it?

I dropped one of my buds in butter! Could one microphone or both be damaged? I now always have the microphone be taken from the non-damaged bud. Both luckily still play audio and do noise cancelling just fine.

Make sure your mic is on isolation mode

I’d never heard of the ear in control centre option (and hadn’t heard of a lot of its features) so not that obvious

I’ve never been able to get a proper ear fit to satisfy the Settings app with my AirPods Pro (1st and 2nd gen USB variant). But I find the Small size tips are the only ones that keep the AirPods from falling out of my ears (although any quick movements of my head will cause them to fall out). Overall I love my AirPods Pro 2 but I think the absolute GOAT AirPods are the Max (best noise cancellation, zero ear fatigue, and obviously they don’t fall out because they’re over the ear).

There is no such thing as the perfect pitch. But you can get close by implementing a few research-backed methods to your delivery, deck, and message.

In this episode of Build Mode, host Isabelle Johannesen sits down with Dr. Eike Gerhardt, who has aPhD in pitching and spent nearly a decade studying the science of startup pitching before starting Autopoiesis Sciences. And he’s joined by Demetri Maxim, co-founder and CEO of Nephrogen, who came in second at TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 2025.

Together, they break down Demetri’s actual Startup Battlefield pitch to unpack what worked, what could be improved, and what research tells us about how investors respond to founders. Eike explains why credibility signals matter, how technical founders can simplify without oversimplifying, and why Q&A should be treated as a second pitch. Demetri shares how he learned to explain complex biotech to generalist investors, how redesigning his deck changed his confidence onstage, and what he would do differently today.
They also explore how body language and authenticity affect a pitch, how investor questions can reveal bias, and how founders can use AI to prepare for difficult Q&A.
