Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey says AI could prove either inflationary or disinflationary depending on whether its impact on demand arrives before productivity gains on the supply side. Speaking at Jackson Hole, Bailey also discusses the UK inflation outlook, why he agrees with Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh on the limitations of forward guidance, and why the BOE will make its own rate decisions regardless of the Fed’s path. He joins Bloomberg’s Lisa Abramowicz on “Bloomberg Tech.”
