      It’s not even necessary to use stem cells from embryos

      Most modern stem cell research uses adult stem cells

    You know if they were to lift the restrictions on stem cell research you wouldn’t need organ donors anymore because you can grow compatible organs from stem cells. You could eradicate Alzheimer’s and Dementia with stem cells. so it’s okay to print a heart organ but not to allow someone to use enzymes and their DNA with stem cell research and grow a compatible lung or kidney or heart to save them. It’s because the organ donor conspiracy is a multi-billion Dollar business

    This is awesome! This development could also potentially contribute to the mass industrialization of laboratory grown meat, which could save millions of people from starvation! The only issue scientists need to figure out in that, is for instance the production of synthetic but natural FBS (fetal bovine serum) for cows as an example. This is great stuff!

    I’m a heart transplant recipient and I’m always hopeful but the reality is this is not even close. The “doctor” in the video is not that smart. Several of the facts he presents about rejection are not right and it proves working in a laboratory is a long way from being a real transplant cardiologist. He just doesn’t have real world practical experience. I’d trust him to print me a phone case but his heart parts ain’t coming near me.

    35 years ago they sent 10 USA citizens that couldn’t walk or talk and in wheel chairs to a facility in Europe . Put fetus stem cells in middle of their brain and all ten showed 50 % plus improvement with some even ended up riding a bike.

    The presenter must have misunderstood: this is not going to be used within the next 5 years because like anything that goes into humans it needs to undergo extensive safety testing – first in pre-clinical trials in animals (mice, pigs, etc) then in stage 1-4 clinical trials, and this can take 10 years or longer
