You manually rotate the cylinder to load in almost every nerf revolver out there. You don’t have a lot of experience with nerf blasters do you?

@Logan Moy That’s completely fair. I think only bigger cylinders (10 darts+) have that clicking thing. It’s cause they’re heavier and could be skipping darts whitout extra friction.

Most nerf revolvers have a slip clutch, it’s 2 pieces that fit together and have angled teeth that are pushed together by a spring, so even if the cylinder is seized the slip clutch, well slips and nothing breaks. The Mangler likely has a disconnect (the rotation mechanism only engages when the blaster is primed, so the cylinder can rotate freely) but the bulldog doesn’t so the rotation mechanism is always engaged. TLDR is that is just a slip clutch (if you open a nerf revolver you’ll see it) and nothing will be damaged.

Have you never used a nerf blaster before? Drum blasters have been using a slip clutch so you can manually rotate the drum to load it for over a decade at this point, possibly even longer, I don’t really feel like figuring out which blaster first started using it.

Well, that doesn’t explain why smaller cylinders don’t make that sound (only the sound of ar flap). I think it’s cause bigger cylinders have more inertia so you need more friction to prevent the skipping of darts.

Thanks to those that kindly pointed out that the clicking noise the Bulldog SG makes is normal and will not break the blaster. My unbiased opinion is that it’s still a very noisy and unpleasant sound.

I wish the Mangler had more capacity. It’s basically a Strong Arm, so it would be nice if it had one feature that made it unique.
